Guests say

The Nightingale is a well-received cottage in Weymouth, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable furnishings, and excellent location. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, the well-maintained garden, and the proximity to local amenities. The property is also noted for its suitability for dogs, though some minor maintenance issues and additional facilities are suggested.

Guests generally found the property to be clean and well-presented. However, one review mentioned finding dog mess in the garden, suggesting room for improvement in ensuring the outdoor space is thoroughly checked between stays.

The location is highly praised for being peaceful, close to Weymouth Harbour, and within walking distance to shops, beaches, and restaurants. Its proximity to local attractions and ease of access to walks make it an ideal spot.

The comfort of the beds and pillows is frequently highlighted, contributing to a restful stay. The property is described as cosy and warm, with a welcoming atmosphere. However, the suggestion of a handrail for accessibility indicates a slight deduction.

Facilities are generally good, with the property being well-equipped. However, guests noted the absence of a masher and chopping board, and a small dog escaping from the garden suggests some attention to detail is required.

While guests mentioned sachets of tea, coffee, milk, and biscuits, there is not enough information to assess the consistency of these gestures or other thoughtful touches across all stays. Therefore, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

Very well presented & well looked after, the garden was ideal for our dog(Bella) also. The only thing we found it needs is a anti shower floor slip mat we both found it gets very slippery when getting out. For a location to gain easy access to walks/shops/beaches/pubs/restaurants you can't go wrong. Lots of places to visit within the area a short car ride away. If you don't want to use the car & just want to walk all you need to do is open the front door & your on the coast paths. Newton's Cove / Castle Cove / Sandsfoot Beach all close by quiet lovely for the dog to run around on.

.we have stayed in many cottages around the maltings area over the years and the nightingale is by far the best…very clean and cosy, we felt at home from the first day..everything we could possibly need was there and the dog loved the large garden..also being able to park right next to the cottage was a big plus for us..next time we’re in Weymouth, will definitely be back..thanks again for a lovely relaxing week…
