The Tack Room in Lydney is highly praised for its comfort, stunning garden, and beautiful views. Guests appreciate the friendly hosts and the property's cleanliness. While some mention a busy road, it does not detract from the overall experience. The property is well-located for exploring the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley, with many finding it a peaceful retreat and considering a return visit.
Reviews consistently mention the property being very clean, with only one comment about a smell from outside, which seems to be an isolated incident. The high level of cleanliness contributes positively to guests' experiences.
The location is generally well-regarded, with easy access to local attractions and amenities. Some guests note the proximity to a busy road, but this does not significantly impact their stay. The beautiful views and garden are frequently highlighted.
Guests find the property very comfortable, mentioning cosy beds, comfy furniture, and a warm welcome. There is a single mention of an uncomfortable bed, but this appears to be a personal preference rather than a common issue.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and outdoor spaces. However, some guests note that the shower could be improved and there's a mention of slow internet, suggesting room for improvement in these areas.
Many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful touches, such as treats on arrival and helpful communication from the hosts. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Concluding the interior are the two bedrooms, comprising of one double and one twin, each boasting a refreshing colour palette and quality linens to ensure that sleep comes easy, as well as access to a sleek Jack-and-Jill en-suite shower room. Guests are free to wander around the delightful shared grounds, sit, and relax with a cool drink whilst planning your next day’s activities, with enough space to allow your canine companion to roam. Be sure to meander into the town centre, where you can enjoy a spot of retail therapy before refuelling in one of the pubs, cafés or restaurants, with something to suit all tastes and budgets. There is plenty to do right on your doorstep including walking and cycling amongst the beautiful countryside of the Royal Forest of Dean, England's largest oak forest, or endeavouring along the Gloucestershire Way and Offa's Dyke Path for even more breath-taking scenery. As well as activities such as caving, abseiling and a high wire rope course, the area plays host to a number of attractions, including Puzzlewood, the Dean Forest Railway and Chepstow Castle. Venture outside the village and visit the historic market town of Monmouth or the cathedral city of Gloucester where you can browse an array of shops or go to a selection of pubs and restaurants. Slightly further afield is the unspoilt Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park) and Black Mountains for walking opportunities in Wales or you could marvel at the timbered Tudor houses in the lovely town of Ross-on-Wye.
