Sunshine Lodge is a well-received holiday cottage, particularly praised for its dog-friendly features, including a secure garden and treats. The tranquil, rural setting is appreciated for relaxation and the owner's thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned. Some concerns over cleanliness and amenities were noted, but overall guests seem to enjoy their stay.
While many guests found the cottage clean and comfortable, there were a few reports of cleanliness issues such as a layer of grease on kitchen items and a mouldy shower mat. These instances seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.
The location is generally praised for its quiet, rural setting and proximity to walks and beaches, although some guests found it more remote than expected and noted the lack of nearby amenities.
Guests frequently describe the cottage as comfortable and homely, with a secure garden that allows pets to roam freely. However, some guests mentioned the beds could be more comfortable.
The facilities are adequate for most guests, with special appreciation for the secure garden and pet-friendly amenities. Criticisms include the lack of Wi-Fi, washing machine, and some maintenance issues.
The owner's thoughtfulness is highly commended, with mentions of welcome baskets for both humans and dogs. However, it should be noted that such personal touches, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.
A very welcoming detached cottage, situated along the lane from the owners home, in rural West Somerset, close to the coast. Exactly as described. The only thing missing is a washer but we knew that before we went so not an issue. The cottage was well laid out, a little home from home. Clean and tidy. Owner didnât pester us but we knew she was only a call away if we had of needed her. The welcome goodies for us and the dog was a lovely, welcome touch. Absolutely perfect for the dogs, was so nice to know it was 100% dog safe and we could just open the door and let them out knowing they were safe. What else can I say, weâre hoping to come back in the future at some point and I would encourage anyone to book.
