The property, originally dating back to 1847 was completely refurbished in 2022 to a very high standard with a contemporary extension, underfloor heating and double glazing throughout.

Court Lodge is in an unbeatable location, easily accessible being 20 minutes from the motorway or local train stations. Easy access to the beautiful countryside and picturesque coast is perfect for families, friends or couples looking to explore Somerset or nearby Devon. There are extensive local walks on footpaths, by-ways or quiet roads ideal for those with canine companions keen to immerse themselves into the countryside.

After a day full of exploration, cross the threshold into your new home-from-home and locate the open-plan living space where a crackling wood burning stove lies at its heart; unwind on the plush sofa in front of it and flick on the Smart TV and good internet access while the designated chef of the group gets acquainted with the fully-equipped kitchen.

Delight in their culinary creations around the spacious dining table or step outside to the private patio to indulge in an alfresco affair while the breath-taking countryside provides a memorable backdrop.

The delightful village of Dulverton is a 25 minute drive and the gateway to Exmoor with pubs, restaurants and shopping. Visits to the beach are all within driving distance: the North Exmoor coast from Porlock to Lynmouth. Surfers can head off to Saunton Sands or Woolacombe, or for a different contrast drive to the south coast to visit Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer or Exmouth.

From here, you can easily access a variety of outdoor activities, such as fishing for trout in the placid waters of Clatworthy Reservoir or Wimbleball Lake, horseback riding at one of several local stables, or simply strolling through the picturesque countryside on one of the many well-marked routes. There are many wonderful locally owned businesses in Wiveliscombe, such as an award-winning butcher, antique shops, a gunsmith, and the famous Court House, a beautiful three-story independently owned shop that draws tourists from all around. The beautiful beaches of North Somerset, including Blue Anchor Bay, are only half an hour away, and the village's location at the entrance to the Brendon Hills and Exmoor makes it a great home base for hiking and other outdoor activities in one of Britain's most picturesque national parks. It's not too far of a drive to the quaint villages of Dulverton and Bampton in Exmoor. A tranquil getaway with plenty of convenient amenities and fun things to do.

    The welcome pack from David is a nice touch. The lodge is extremely spacious. We had great sleeps in the comfy beds and blackout curtain in the rooms. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the fireplace - a fantastic way to spend your November evening.

    Sofa needs looking at as it dips one end. A few bits needed in the kitchen - maybe some Cooking oil and some kitchen roll. Other than these minor things the cottage is lovely - just what we needed to recharge our batteries.
