About this property

Situated on a working stable yard, the idyllic Bradley Stables is a ground-floor barn conversion in Withypool, Somerset, conveniently situated in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. Located on the grounds of the owner's farm, this pet-friendly holiday cottage has everything two friends, a couple, a solitary traveller, or even a small family needs for a pleasant break, including a shared indoor pool, off-road parking, and a breathtaking landscape. After you arrive, drop your bags inside before heading out to enjoy your surroundings with a drink on the patio. Return inside and prepare a supper in the kitchen before dining with your loved one while you plan your future activities. Sink onto the sofa and enjoy a movie and once your eyes begin to tire, make your way to the bedroom, where a super-king-size zip and link bed awaits you. Start your day with a refreshing shower; the shower room features a fantastic double shower with lots of space for getting ready in style. With horse stables and kennels on the property, you are welcome to bring your own horses and dogs to enjoy the holiday with you: there is a bridleway and walking path at the back of the property. Find Withypool along the bridleway and stop at the Royal Oak pub for a drink or a handy store. For a day of nature and sun, take an afternoon stroll to a local fishing lake with a fire pit. Fishing is also permitted along the river below the property, but please bring your rod licence! Visit Tarr Steps Woodland National Natural Reserve for a longer walk and the opportunity to explore Somerset's scenery, or head to the coast to see Dunster Castle, a National Trust location with 1,000 years of history, subtropical gardens, and even a steam train. While on the coast, visit Minehead, which boasts a profusion of shops and restaurants, a beautiful beach, and even a water park and is ideal for a summer trip with your loved ones. Bradley Stables is an attractive hideaway in a gorgeous setting. This property can be booked with Great Bradley Cottage ref: 1015398 together sleeping six guests.

Withypool has a distant, upland feel about it and is surrounded by wide moorland. The majority of the settlement is located on the north bank of the river, following the small roads that circle the valley. The old buildings are encased in lime washed rendered stonewalls with slate roofs, which adds to their charm. There are general stores/post offices and tearooms in Withypool. The Two Moors Way, which runs through the village, is one of the best short and long walks in and surrounding this area.

I truly appreciated little touches like farm milk in a bottle- it tasted of milk!! There was nothing missing in this beautiful safe location. I would certainly go back for a longer stay.

Friendly owner who made us feel welcome. Slippers robes and towels provided for the pool was a nice touch too. Great walking and within reasonable distance of the coast. Highly recommended!

We swam every day and had the pool to ourselves every time. We did several walks from the cottage without needing to get in a car including to Withypool and Exford to visit the pubs. The scenery is beautiful and we enjoyed walking alongside the River Barle despite the rain. Our host Nicky was very friendly and welcoming.
