Guests consistently praise Wey House for its spaciousness, comfortable furnishings, and peaceful, idyllic location in Withypool. The property's proximity to local amenities, including a shop, tearooms, and a pub, is frequently highlighted as a bonus. The large gardens and the dark skies area for stargazing add to the charm. While some guests mention dated decor and the need for maintenance, the overall experience is deemed enjoyable, with many expressing a desire to return.
Most guests found Wey House to be clean and tidy, with particular mention of clean bedrooms and bedding. However, a few guests noted areas that could benefit from deeper cleaning, such as kitchen equipment and some furnishings, slightly impacting the overall impression.
The location of Wey House is highly regarded, with guests appreciating the quiet village setting, proximity to local amenities, and the beautiful Exmoor landscape. The convenience for exploring the surrounding area and engaging in countryside activities is a standout feature.
Guests frequently comment on the comfortable beds and the ample space provided by the property, allowing for a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The multiple living areas and well-fenced paddocks for dogs contribute to the overall comfort experienced by visitors.
The facilities at Wey House generally meet guests' needs, with a well-stocked kitchen and large grounds. However, some guests reported issues with appliances and suggested that updates are needed. The responsiveness of the hosts to these concerns mitigates some of the inconvenience.
While many reviews reflect positively on the host's responsiveness and the convenience of the property's amenities, there is no specific mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

We had a great stay at Tony’s. The house is huge, plenty of space for everyone. It had everything we needed.

Great sized house, especially for multiple families/generations, plenty of space for kids to run around and for everyone to get their own quiet space when needed. The house is pretty dated and in need of some upgrades, the oven didn't work but Tony responded quickly and brought a spare one to us from their tea shop, however it was incredibly dirty inside so we chose not to make food at the house, which added a fair expense eating out every day! The kitchen felt quite grubby and the oven trays in the drawer were greasy. The seat pads at the dining table are covered in stains, as are the white leather sofas and one of the cushions is really worn away. There were some wall stains (possible damp) behind the tv in the dark living room. On a plus side the bedrooms were clean and the bedding was lovely and clean and comfortable, there is a lot of parking which is rare and good outdoor space. It could be an incredible place, it just needs a bit of money spending on it!
