About this property

This charming annex is situated next to the owner’s home in the village of Athelington, amidst the scenery of High Suffolk. Affording an open-plan living space, character beams, a woodburning stove and off-road parking, Ivy House Barn welcomes couples looking to escape to Suffolk, with easy access to the Norfolk Broads, Coast and Heaths AONB. After a day of exploring, kick back in the sitting area and make yourself comfortable on the settee and armchairs, with an alluring woodburning stove to heat the space. Spend some down time in the sunroom or take the evening outside to the patio space, complete with bistro table and chairs so you can enjoy alfresco dining. The bedroom features a double bed and contemporary en-suite shower room where you can freshen up before your adventures. Pick up your cupboard essentials from the neighbouring village of Horham, whilst Stradbroke is slightly further along but offers a pub, ideal for when you fancy a night away from cooking, whilst Framlingham and Eye offer a choice of takeaways. Ivy House Barn is within easy reach of the Suffolk coast, boasting a number of fantastic beaches for you to take advantage of, including Walberswick Beach, The Denes Beach in Southwold and Aldeburgh beach, offering watersporting and wild swimming opportunities. Both Aldeburgh and Southwold are villages that are well worth a visit with coastal walks, museums and local craft and produce shops, whilst the market town of Framlingham is worth a visit, boasting the Norman Framlingham Castle that was seen in Ed Sheeran’s music video for ‘Castle on the Hill’. Choose Ivy House Barn for a romantic retreat to Suffolk.

High Suffolk's thriving community of Stradbroke is home to two top-notch inns and a few small stores. Very comfortable everything you could need provided. Setting very relaxing and refreshing. In fact a most enjoyable holiday. Following a stressful time for two months previous it was just the perfect place to relax and refresh. Even the weather was superb !! We would love to go back and repeat the experience especially now we know where it is !

Only complaint is complete lack of any information ie. Nothing about nearest doctors, vets, local shops, dog walks, places to eat or visit. Also no information on how to get central heating on if needed (in this wonderful summer) or how to operate TV which is totally different to any tv we have used. Also no information regarding recycling which does vary across the country.
