Lavender Cottage in Aldeburgh is praised for its charm, warmth, and excellent location close to shops and the beach. The property's historic character and cosy fireplace are highlights, and it offers a spacious garden. While guests appreciate the cottage's potential, they note areas for improvement, particularly in maintenance and cleanliness.
Several reviews mention the need for a deeper clean, with specific references to unvacuumed floors, dirty windows, and cobwebs. The property appears to be well-loved but would benefit from more thorough cleaning.
The cottage's location is consistently praised for its proximity to local amenities, the high street, and the beach, making it an ideal spot for guests looking to explore Aldeburgh.
Guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, particularly noting the spacious sitting room and bedrooms. However, some mention low ceilings and quirky features typical of an older building that might affect comfort for some.
The property is appreciated for its well-equipped kitchen and garden furniture. However, guests report issues with maintenance, such as a non-working dishwasher, TV aerial problems, and garden upkeep, suggesting a need for better facilities management.
The presence of a welcome pack is noted, although it is considered less generous than expected. While such gestures are appreciated, it is politely noted that they are not guaranteed and vary from stay to stay.

Very quiet, peaceful, close to the beach and all the townâs shops and amenities. A perfect location and a delightful cottage. A couple of lightbulbs needed replacing and the extractor didnât work in the bathroom but Iâm sure they are aware of it.

The charming character of the property was let down by the shabby appearance of the garden. It stated in the booklet (at the property) that the house has a gardener, however this was not evident from the display of weeds and general neglect. Care and attention would make this charming property much better. It could do will an exterior paint and clean as well as maintance on the garden. The fan in the bathroom does not work as well as some of the lighting in the kitchen. Lavender cottage has so much to offer and feels very cosy. At the moment it feels tired and unloved which was disappointing and could be easily be solved.

Dog friendly, just no grass for them to use. Two things let it down a little, the dish washer not working, we had to wash some items before use. How clean the venue was, not terrible just not as clean as we would have expected.
