This wonderful, semi-detached house rests just a short stroll from Aldeburgh’s lively high street, home to a variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and takeaways. The Vintage House boasts a quirky interior with great attention to detail and a 1920s feel throughout, providing a much-needed escape for family and friends. The owners have carefully restored the house, keeping much of the original furniture that was bought in 1928 – there's even a Newsom room, a room dedicated to preserving the history of the house! Look forward to unwinding in the sitting room, curling up beside the open fire and relaxing upon the sofa and two armchairs, while a subtly concealed flat-screen TV provides light entertainment.

The kitchen retains its period character, with the original (non-working) range cooker and hot water boiler, but includes modern amenities, such as the dual fuel cooker and fridge tucked away in the pantry. Rustle up a favourite meal to be served in the dining room, exuding the calm and gentle atmosphere of the 1920s with its open fire and restored bay window, this is a lovely spot to host family mealtimes. Climb a set of original wooden stairs to the first floor, where you will discover the first of the bedrooms; a double aspect room with views over both and front and rear gardens, an original fireplace and once again it retains the original furniture, including its restored double bed and built-in wardrobe.

The second room offers twin beds, ideal for the little ones, while there is a spacious family bathroom, complete with a roll-top bath and shower over, so you can decide how best to prepare for the day. Step outside and enjoy a moment in the garden patio, with room for food and drinks, while there is unrestricted on-road parking to the front of the house. Aldeburgh has a great selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, not to mention its famous fish and chip shop. Pack your seaside bag and venture over to the Aldeburgh Beach, backed by a promenade and pretty pastel-coloured villas.

Predominantly shingle, make your way past the fishing boats and the beach slopes steeply towards the sea. Meander north along the beach and visit the four-meter high ‘Scallop’, or view world-renowned art at the Aldeburgh Beach Lookout and Art House, home to an exciting programme of exhibitions and a hand-picked collection of pieces available to buy. With plenty to do here, you will want to return to The Vintage House year after year.

Aldeburgh is a popular seaside town known for its traditional atmosphere and fish and chips! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are also home to one of the world's most renowned music festivals. During the summer months, the beach is a popular destination. The town is steeped in history and has evolved into a fantastic shopping destination, with a decent mix of small and chain retailers. You'll want to visit Aldeburgh again and again as it becomes more popular.
