The Old Pottery Cottage in Barnby is a charming and clean accommodation, well-suited for dog owners and those looking to explore Suffolk and Norfolk. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, the enclosed garden, and the property's proximity to beaches and local attractions. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the overall experience is positive, with a warm welcome and a thoughtful touch of a welcome hamper.
Guests consistently described the cottage as clean, indicating high standards of cleanliness throughout the property.
The location is praised for its convenience to beaches, the Broads, museums, and local pubs, although one review mentioned difficult access via the road.
The cottage is generally found to be comfortable and well-equipped, but there are comments about uncomfortable furniture and an inaccessible shower, suggesting room for improvement.
While the kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, guests noted the lack of a clothesline and bedroom storage. The absence of a cafetiere or percolator to use with provided coffee also suggests that some facilities could be better maintained or provided.
The welcome hamper was a thoughtful gesture, appreciated by guests. However, as gifts can vary and are not guaranteed, future guests should consider this a pleasant bonus rather than an expectation.

It was a nice cottage but the access road was almost impassable. The shower was inaccessible and the furniture was very uncomfortable.
Mr Clapham
Very welcoming cottage, very well equipped and comfortable. Ideal for dogs as the garden is all fenced in. Perfectly situated for discovering Suffolk and Norfolk.
Mr Chamberlain
We received a warm welcome . The accommodation is brilliantly located to explore the river waveney or the nearby dog friendly beaches. It feels a bit of a work in progress. We had pegs but nowhere to peg wet swim stuff. A clothesmade would be handy. The single bedroom consisted of a bed- that's it . A shelf (as not much room for bedside table) maybe a lamp, with nowhere to put clothes. We has a thoughtful welcome hamper, crisps , biscuits, pear juice and fresh (?) Coffee but not cafetiere or percolator to try it. Having said all that, we enjoyed our break, and the dogs appreciated the enclosed garden with walks from the door.
