Whisk yourself and five of your closest friends away to this coastal gem for days on the beach before returning home to incredible views and cosy interiors. It''s the perfect base for exploring some of Suffolk''s finest landscapes.
Clean off sandy boots, pop down your windbreakers and make your way into the open-plan lounge/kitchen to unwind amidst stunning sea views, comfortable sofas and a TV streaming your favourite shows. Your head chef will be enamoured with the fully equipped kitchen, whether cooking breakfasts, lunches or dinners. Gather the troops around the table and enjoy a meal with lots of laughter and plenty of glasses of bubbles before continuing the festivities in the charming garden. Vibrant flowers and an expansive lawn highlight the magnificent sea views, all of which can be enjoyed from the table and chairs. When heads begin to nod, turn to one of three cosy bedrooms, two of which boast coastal views. When you wake up fully rested, savour a long soak in the family bathtub and start cooking up your plans for the day.
Make use of your direct access to sandy shores by following the path from your garden to Walberswick Beach. Spend long days watching the children bounce around the dunes, go crabbing on the beach, or enjoy afternoon tea at one of the pubs and tearooms. Exercise enthusiasts will love following the Suffolk Coast Path due to its marvellous scenery, while history buffs may like to visit ''England''s lost city'' of Dunwich, which was once a thriving medieval port with a fascinating past.

It was a surprise there was no dishwasher but I found washing up quite therapeutic. Parking is awkward in a small space. Views amazing, beds comfy. Disappointed the goal had gone in the garden. We loved the quirky, mid 20th century house.

We had a lovely stay in this charming modernist property over-looking a cropped field, reed marshes and dunes out to the sea, with Sizewell in the distance. The rooms are generous and intriguingly sparsely, yet comfortably, furnished. We need separate sleeping arrangements, and the two double-bed rooms suited us well, with their separate bathroom and shower rooms and toilets. The room with bunkbeds looked appealing but wasn't needed by us. The art decorating the property was refreshingly engaging. And having a DVD player and fine selection of DVD's, along with a variety of network TV options was a delight. The Co-op, 2 pubs, a little local deli, along with tearooms, ice cream outlets, gift and memorabilia shops, are a pleasant walk away, as is the beach, and the ferry across to Southwold. This was not the first time we have been to Walberswick and Southwold, and this part of the Suffolk Coast, but it is always a pleasure, and this was no exception.

The main selling point for this property is the vista looking south across the fields, reed beds and shingle beach to the sea and Sizewell in the distance. The property itself is in need of some tlc with most of it being the original 1950’s structure and is quite basic when compared to other properties we rent. A bit like staying in a youth hostel. There is no freezer as stated in the details on the website just a small under counter fridge with an ice box. There is no drawer space to put items of clothing away that cannot be hung and so you find yourself living out of a case. There are no curtains and so it was bright early on and given the single glazing the pigeons were very noisy. There is a shower room downstairs with a water saving head that is like showing in a warm mist. There is no terrestrial TV and we could not get the Firestick to work and so had to make do with phones for the little TV we wanted. Wifi was a little flaky at times but when it did run was fast enough. Parking is tight from the narrow lane. The oven, microwave, pans, kitchen knives seem to be newish which was nice but the general cutlery and glassware was limited and things like any Pyrex or jug missing which made it trickier to cook. We had excellent weather and it was nice to sit outside and read or dine under the sail looking at the view. We had the opportunity to watch the crop being taken in from the field directly in front although it was very dusty. There is a path right in front of the terrace just a few feet away and horse riders and walkers will chat as they pass. I would recommend some insect repellent and bite cream as there are a lot of bitey flies. I made the mistake of sitting out in shorts and had over 20 bites on my legs by the end of dinner, worse than Scotland. It is an easy walk, just under a mile through the historic village, to the main beach and ferry and I would recommend The Anchor for dinner. There is a pleasant walk to Southwold over the foot bridge where you can get some excellent fish and chips. All in all a pleasant village to stay in with some good walks and great views.
