Guests say

Bullfinch Cottage is consistently praised for its cleanliness, peaceful rural setting, and warm atmosphere. Guests appreciate the eco-friendly products, the well-equipped kitchen, and the comfortable beds. The thoughtful touches, such as fresh eggs and dog treats, are well-received, although they are not always provided. Some minor suggestions for improvement include updating soft furnishings and providing a welcome basket.

Guests frequently commend the cottage for its spotless condition and the care taken to maintain cleanliness, with several reviews highlighting this aspect positively.

The location is described as peaceful and rural, with an abundance of wildlife and convenient access to local attractions. The serene setting is a recurring theme in guest feedback.

The cottage is generally considered comfortable, with a warm atmosphere and good central heating. However, some guests mention that the sofa and dining chairs could be more supportive, which suggests room for improvement in seating comfort.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and good equipment. The log burner and eco-friendly products are appreciated. Some guests suggest additional mugs and preparation boards, and there are comments about the low wattage microwave and weathered outdoor furniture.

The hosts are noted for their thoughtfulness, with mentions of fresh eggs and dog treats adding a personal touch. However, as these gifts are not consistently mentioned in all reviews, it is politely noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Completing the ground floor is a handy cloakroom and small storage cupboard.

Upstairs, you can wash away the day's adventures in Bullfinch’s well-appointed shower room, before retiring to one of two beautifully presented bedrooms, a double with en-suite bathroom, and a delightful twin, to curl up with your favourite book or catch up on some rest.

The ancient village of Kingsland is just a short drive away where you will find a couple of traditional pubs with the vibrant village of Yarpole also close by which is between Ludlow and Leominster and which is mentioned in the “Domesday Book”, boasts an award-winning community shop and offers some great walks which are rewarded with breath-taking views.

Next stop is Leominster, where you can delve into the town's fascinating history at the Leominster Museum, or for a super day out (or two!) why not visit historic Ludlow, home to one of the finest medieval castle ruins in England and more than 500 listed buildings?

There are so many fantastic activities for the whole family to enjoy from high wires and paintball to quad trekking and raft building, all available at nearby Oaker Wood Activity Centre.

Not far away are the National Trust sites of Croft Castle, a 17th century manor house and Berrington Hall, an 18th century mansion.

A little further afield is the Judge's Lodgings in Presteigne, Stokesay Castle, the renowned Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm are also all well worth a visit.

Venture into Hereford and you'll discover the Black and White Museum (built in 1621) and Hereford Cathedral - home to the Mappa Mundi (Hereford's famous medieval map used by scholars to interpret the world over 700 years ago) and the captivating, chained library (a collection of rare and ancient books). Set in the former Bulmer's Cider Factory, the Museum of Cider is also worth a visit.

We met the lovely owners when we arrived - who said to call if we needed anything at all. The cottage is set in such a perfect & peaceful situation - yet only a short drive from Leominster. We were so pleased to be able to walk our dog in the fields which are literally just outside the front door. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful cottage, we all loved it.

We appreciated the free eggs as a welcoming gift. This is a cottage with beams upstairs, which we were aware of when we booked it, but as a 6' tall person I found it challenging. There was a comfortable bed, and living room sofa with a smart TV. The downgrade for the comfort is purely down to the tired kitchen chairs, which lacked support. Kingsland has 2 excellent food pubs The Corners Inn, and The Angel, both of which are recommended. There are National Trust properties nearby, and Ludlow and Hereford are lovely, which makes this Cottage well located, and worth a stay.

The rural setting was perfect. The fresh eggs left in the kitchen for us was a lovely touch
