About this property

The Cow Shed is a charming, single-storey abode settled into the rural outskirts of Bridgnorth. With off-road parking, welcoming interiors, and close by amenities, it is the ideal romantic getaway for a couple looking to explore Shropshire. Park off-road and be welcomed into this pet-friendly abode, discovering a light and airy open-plan living space boasting exposed brickwork and tall ceilings threaded with wooden roofbeams. This characterful space offers a sitting area ideal for movie nights in, as well as a contemporary kitchen with a good selection of amenities, and a dining space where you can enjoy a romantic meal for two. Outside there is an enclosed garden, ideal for dining alfresco, or enjoying a glass of fizz as the sun sets over the local countryside. When sleep calls, freshen up in the shower room, before cosying up in the well presented king-size bedroom. For amenities, head out into Bridgnorth, where there are a great selection of cafés, pubs, and restaurants, with options including The Gardenhouse Cafe, The Stable Bar, and The Old Castle. There are also convenience stores for all of your holiday essentials, and attractions close by include walks beside the River Severn, Bridgnorth Cliff Railway Top Station, Bridgnorth Northgate Museum, and Bridgnorth Castle and Gardens. Further afield you will find walks at Eardington Nature Reserve, ideal for birdwatching, as well as the delightful countryside of the Shropshire Hills National Landscape. There is so much to be explored from The Cow Shed, ideal for your romantic getaway to Shropshire.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.
