The Ferns in Ludlow is praised for its excellent location, clean and well-equipped interiors, and a large, secure garden ideal for pets and children. Guests appreciate the property's character and modern amenities, though some suggest minor updates and additional features could enhance the experience.
The property is consistently described as clean and tidy, with guests noting its well-maintained state. The cleanliness contributes positively to the overall experience.
The location is highly regarded, with guests appreciating the short stroll into the centre of Ludlow and the property's proximity to local attractions and amenities.
Comfort receives mixed reviews. While some guests find the beds comfortable and the property cosy, others mention steep stairs and suggest the addition of stair gates and larger beds for taller guests.
Facilities are generally good, with a well-equipped kitchen and secure garden. However, some guests mention issues with parking, temperamental plumbing, and a desire for a washing machine, indicating room for improvement in maintenance and amenities.
While some guests mention a welcome fire and the potential for a welcome hamper, there is not enough consistent information on thoughtful touches such as gifts to provide a score. It should be noted that while such gestures are appreciated, they are not guaranteed.

The picturesque Welsh Marches scenery surrounds the mediaeval market town of Ludlow, which is located on the River Teme. The town has a wonderful variety of architecture, including Ludlow Castle, which is almost 900 years old and one of the first stone castles to be erected in England. The castle is now open throughout the year and offers a variety of activities, such as outdoor theatre, culinary, art, and literature festivals, as well as several antique and art fairs. A huge public riverside green and weir are available at Millenium Green, which is located beneath the castle. The Green Cafe, which is close on the river, also offers good indoor and outdoor dining options. Street markets have been held in Ludlow since the eleventh century. Today, the town square hosts a classic open-air market every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday of the year. With the "Local to Ludlow" produce market on certain Thursdays and an "Antique & Flea market" on some Sundays, there are more than forty stalls selling a variety of goods, including fresh vegetables, cheeses, books, and a selection of local crafts.

We thought the property was a little shabby for the amount we paid! The driveway is only suitable for a very small car, my Ford Focus is approx a Metre to long to park on it, but you can use the garage.

The garden gave us relaxation and our dog plenty of play time. The house was a well presented and clean holiday home. Ludlow was a walk away, beautiful historic town.

Plenty of room to park the car directly outside the property. Fantastic large enclosed garden ideal for dogs and children to play safely. Only a couple of small issues, the bed frame in the main bedroom is a little noisy would benefit from the brackets being tightened and the bedrooms facing the garden could do with black out liners on the curtains. Overall this property is ideal for a stay in Ludlow with easy access to the A49 to explore further afield.
