The Old Coach House in Shrewsbury is highly praised for its peaceful location, high standard of renovation, and thoughtful touches. Guests appreciate the friendly owners, the well-equipped kitchen, and the comfortable accommodations. The property's historic charm and proximity to local attractions make it an excellent base for exploring Shropshire.
Guests consistently note the property's cleanliness, with only a minor mention of some overlooked mess under the sofa. The overall impression is of an extremely clean and well-maintained cottage.
The location is frequently described as peaceful, beautiful, and convenient for local walks and attractions. Its quiet village setting close to Shrewsbury and other sites is appreciated, although one review mentioned a slight disappointment with the distance to the nearest pub.
The cottage is lauded for its comfort, with several reviews highlighting the spaciousness and cosiness. Some guests mentioned minor issues with ceiling height and a beam in the bedroom, but these did not significantly detract from the overall comfort.
Facilities are generally regarded as excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and thoughtful provisions. The property's historic features are well-preserved, adding to its charm. A few minor maintenance issues, such as a steep staircase and a broken gatepost, are noted.
Many reviews express gratitude for the thoughtful extras provided, such as milk, eggs, and fruit. While these gifts are warmly received, it is important to note that such offerings, while generous, may vary and are not guaranteed.
A delightful, early 19th century, detached coach house conversion, in a courtyard within the grounds of an old rectory, in the sleepy village of Shrawardine; a wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of our quality Shropshire cottages. Old Coach House has been skilfully developed to a very high standard to create an enticing combination of original character features with modern facilities, to offer welcoming, well-equipped accommodation. The approach to the cottage has lovely views towards the Breidden Hills and Rodney's Pillar, whilst the scenic Severn Way Walk runs beside the cottage. Wonderful walking can be enjoyed in the Shropshire Hills, and National Cycle Network route 81 is just 50 yards from the cottage. Within easy reach are Shrewsbury, Church Stretton, Ludlow, the Ironbridge Gorge, Stokesay Castle and Acton Scott Historic Working Farm. A luxury Shrawardine cottage in an ideal location.
Shrawardine is a quiet and secluded village situated in the beautiful Shropshire countryside, ideally located for touring this scenic county. Shrawardine is an easy drive away from the stunning Shropshire hills of the Long Mynd, Stiperstones and Caradoc, with their exceptional walking, biking and horse riding opportunities. Shrawardine is home to the fascinating ruins of a 13th Century Norman castle with impressive views. Just six miles away the medieval city of Shrewsbury, offering a choice of shops, pubs and restaurants, a new theatre, timber-framed black-and-white buildings, riverside walks, an abbey and a castle, is waiting to be explored. Also close to Shrawardine are Church Stretton, Ludlow, the Severn Valley Railway and the Ironbridge Gorge museums.
