Guests say

Guests have praised 5 Myrtle View for its beautiful decor, comfortable beds, and stunning views. The cottage's location serves as an excellent base for exploring the Yorkshire countryside. While parking and access via an unmade road have been noted as challenges, the thoughtful touches like Prosecco and biscuits have been well-received. The property's cleanliness and well-equipped kitchen also received positive comments.

The cottage is consistently described as clean and well-maintained, with several reviews highlighting its immaculate condition. One review mentioned the need for garden tidying, but this did not detract significantly from the overall perception of cleanliness.

The location is appreciated for its quietness and proximity to local attractions, though some guests have mentioned difficulties with parking and the rough approach road. The views and accessibility to nearby towns are well-regarded.

Comfort is frequently mentioned, with guests finding the beds comfy and the cottage cosy. However, some guests experienced issues with cold in the top room and found the garden not easily accessible, which slightly impacts the comfort score.

Facilities are generally praised, especially the well-equipped kitchen and stylish renovation. However, there are comments about the lack of certain items like washing up cloths, slippery showers without mats, and the need for a first aid kit, which suggests room for improvement.

The provision of Prosecco, milk, and biscuits was mentioned positively, indicating a level of thoughtfulness. However, as not all reviews mention gifts and there is no guarantee of such items being provided for every stay, it is not possible to accurately score this category.

Mobile contact helpful. Parking is a bit of an issue but neighbours were helpful and we were able to drop off our belongings and move the car a short walk down the unmade road. Directions given on getting there were useless; please speak to owner and update. OK if Satnav used.

It was very comfortable and had all the home comforts. The downstairs floor were a bit grimy, the girls socks were a state after walking around. It would have been nice to have some wood for the log burner as many other cottages advertise. Parking is not great, there is no ‘official’ space for this house. We managed to park in front of the field gate, but were blocked in a couple of times. It was very windy while we were there and the top room was quite cold and the wind was howling like banshees, so struggled to sleep a bit. All in all a lovely place to stay.

Beautiful, cosy cottage in lovely quiet location with great views. Stylishly renovated with comfy beds. We’d highly recommend a stay here and would love to return. Could be improved by providing a bit more info on arrival such as where to buy logs locally for the wood burner as we were unable to find any. Also there were no washing up cloths provided. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
