Guests say

Lower Cross is a well-received cottage, praised for its comfort, stunning views, and well-maintained garden. Guests appreciate the warm welcome from the owner and the property's cleanliness. It's well-equipped, offering a homely environment and a good base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Wildlife sightings and the proximity to historic sites add to its charm, although a few guests noted minor issues with facilities and garden security for pets.

The cottage is consistently described as spotless and very clean, with only a single mention of minor cleaning needed for kitchenware, which does not significantly impact the overall high standards maintained.

The location is generally appreciated for its beautiful views and proximity to local attractions, although one review mentioned it being more suburban with traffic than expected. The majority, however, enjoyed the peaceful setting and convenient access to the countryside.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds and a homely feel. The spaciousness and warmth of the rooms contribute to a restful experience, although a single review suggested more bathroom facilities for the number of guests.

The property is well-equipped, with a few guests suggesting improvements such as a smart TV and microwaveable dishes. The well-kitted kitchen and the presence of games and books are positives, but the mention of missing appliance instructions and a non-fitting bath mat indicate room for improvement.

While several reviews mention a warm welcome and thoughtful touches like a welcome basket with eggs and milk, there is not enough information to guarantee such gifts for future guests. Therefore, while the owner's thoughtfulness is evident, it cannot be assured for every stay.

Bed comfortable, well equipped kitchen and super shower. Great views from the property and we visited many places. This was our first holiday with the dog and the garden was all enclosed so had no worries. We met Barbara, the owner, who was friendly and helpful.

It felt very homely, comfortable & we thoroughly enjoyed it, especially watching the ever changing view from each of picture windows. Our favourite room was the sun lounge with the incredible vistas, and we enjoyed playing some of the games that were left for us. The cottage was nice & clean, and Barbara, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. My wife, who is an author (Loretta Livingstone) added one of her co-written books (Historical Stories of Exile) to the well stocked library.
