Coniston Lake is nearby and provides an idyllic circular walk, or why not hire a kayak or paddleboard and take to the water yourself? Gargrave offers shops, pubs and restaurants, plus the village has good bus and rail services, so a car isn't essential. Four miles away is the ancient market town of Skipton 'The Gateway to the Dales' with its historic castle and thriving high street.
