When it's time to retire for the night, choose from one of the three inviting bedrooms. The super-king-size bedroom boasts an en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin, and WC, offering a private sanctuary for relaxation. There is a village shop and café, as well as the options of walks to Starbotton, Buckden and Buckden Pike. When you are ready to leave the comfort of Battery Barn, venture on the numerous picturesque walks, hikes and cycling routes that the Yorkshire Dales National Park has to offer, perhaps ending at Kilnsey Park. This stunning nature reserve guarantees a delightful day out for all ages with its fishing lakes, farm animals, adventure playground, and café. After a day of exploration, unwind in The Blue Bell Inn, a traditional Yorkshire pub located just a short stroll from your doorstep, where you can savour a pint of locally brewed ale and a hearty home-cooked meal. Nestling at the foot of Great Whernside, near the head of Upper Wharfedale, this idyllic village makes the perfect place from which to explore the wonderful scenery and pretty villages of this magnificent Dale. Much of Upper Wharfedale is National Trust owned - an indication of the beauty of its classic countryside, with dry-stone walls and barns, important flower-rich hay meadows and valley side woodland. Undoubtedly, this is one of the best walking and mountain biking areas in the Dales, with The Dales Way passing nearby. The village itself lying on the banks of the River Wharfe is a real delight with traditional built stone cottages, three pubs, a Post Office, speciality shops and a hotel. No surprise that the hit movie Calendar Girls was filmed here and in other locations throughout the area. An excellent base for enjoying the famous Dales, historic market towns, caves and waterfalls of this magical area.
