Herriots House in Skipton is highly praised for its prime location, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen. Guests enjoyed the hot tub and the property's proximity to local amenities. The separate lounge area received mixed feedback, and there were some maintenance issues, but overall, the property provided a pleasant stay for large groups and families.
Guests consistently noted the property was beautifully clean and spotless upon arrival, indicating high standards of cleanliness. One mention of a cleaning issue was quickly rectified, reinforcing the property's commitment to cleanliness.
The property's location is frequently commended for being close to Skipton town centre, with easy access to shops, parks, and the canal. Its proximity to the train station and supermarkets was also appreciated, making it an ideal base for exploring.
The comfort of the beds and the quality of the furnishings were highlighted positively. However, some guests found the low-down beds uncomfortable and the separate lounge area inconvenient, slightly affecting the overall comfort score.
Facilities like the hot tub and en-suite bathrooms were well-received. However, maintenance issues such as leaking showers, a non-functional outdoor shower, and dishwasher problems were noted, suggesting room for improvement in this area.
While guests mentioned a generous welcome hamper and the provision of dog baskets, water bowls, and toys, there is not enough information to determine if such gestures are consistent across all stays. Therefore, the score is set to null, and it should be noted that such gifts are not guaranteed.

Very clean, comfortable, warm and well equipped. The only thing missing were some beer glasses (we had a keg of my husband's home brew). The fact that only one dishwasher was working was also slightly inconvenient as there were 12 of us, although that meant plenty of hands to help with the washing up. The generous welcome hamper was a nice surprise and much appreciated. The outdoor heated seating area and hot tub were fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed by all. The location is great, very handy for local amenities and canal walks. The Rhubarb restaurant at Herriots Hotel next door does an excellent brunch. All in all Herriots House was ideal for our family weekend celebrating an 80th birthday.

Having said that we enjoyed our stay and the staff at the hotel were very helpful with dealing with a couple of issues. The property is in an excellent location being opposite train station and shops and only a few minutes walk along either the road or the canal into the town centre.
Sally
We did have a problem with the electric overloading so tripping when a few electrical appliances were on. Great place to stay will definitely be back and sincerely will recommend
