6 Riverdale is a well-regarded cottage in the Yorkshire Dales, praised for its spaciousness, comfort, and well-equipped nature. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches from the owner and the property's suitability as a base for exploring the Dales. While some guests mention issues with dampness and TV sound quality, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.
The property generally receives positive remarks for cleanliness, with spotless kitchens and bathrooms noted. However, some guests reported a damp smell and issues with bedroom drawers, which affects the overall perception of cleanliness.
The location is highly praised for being an ideal base to explore the Dales, with a welcoming local pub nearby. Guests are delighted with the village and the beauty of the surrounding area.
Guests find the cottage comfortable, spacious, and well-suited for larger groups. Some concerns are raised about spongy mattresses and dampness affecting comfort levels in bedrooms.
Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and good internet connection. However, several guests experienced issues with the TV sound quality and hot water, and one mentioned garden maintenance, which suggests room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
The owner's thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of local information, a bottle of wine, and dog amenities. While these gestures are appreciated, it is noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary.

Bainbridge, a lovely Wensleydale village, is located in absolutely magnificent surroundings just a mile and a half from Askrigg, well known to millions as Darrowby in James Herriot's "All Creatures Great and Small," and four miles from Hawes, the birthplace of Wensleydale cheese. Spacious and well equipped. Did have trouble with the hot water, didn't seem to work independently of the heating. The TV was a nightmare to use and a make we had never heard of. My husband who is very good with this technology struggled to get a channel and when we did we got commentary which he couldn't get rid of. Also had a night where we got picture but no sound and only seemed to have two channels available.

The cottage is very spacious, comfortable, well equipped and made an excellent base for exploring Wensleydale. The only negatives were that the bed in main bedroom had a spongy mattress (which i think needs replacing) and that we could only get two channels working on the TV - but apart from that is was 5 star!

A well equipped kitchen, with the added bonus of a slow cooker which is great when you plan to go on a big walk /out for the day, to return home to the smell of a lovely meal ready for you. Perhaps some clearer instructions with regards to recycling rubbish, no separate bins appeared to be present at the property.
