Arklehurst is a cosy and traditional Dales cottage nestled in a peaceful and picturesque village, ideal for dog owners and walkers. Guests have enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere, the local walks straight from the door, and the friendly local pubs. Some guests were delighted by a Christmas bundle of goodies, adding a touch of thoughtfulness to their stay.
Most guests found Arklehurst clean and comfortable, with only a few mentioning issues with dust and cobwebs. The majority of reviews reflect a well-maintained property, suggesting a high standard of cleanliness overall.
The location is highly praised for its stunning rural setting, tranquillity, and direct access to beautiful walks. The proximity to friendly local pubs and the charm of the Yorkshire Dales contribute to its high rating.
Guests describe the cottage as warm, cosy, and homely, with comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen. However, some guests mentioned issues with the mattresses and seating, which suggests room for improvement in comfort.
The cottage is generally well-appointed, but there are comments about the need for better kitchen utensils and issues with parking. The presence of a cosy fire and a spacious kitchen are positives, but maintenance concerns like the need for a new mattress and clearer parking instructions have been noted.
While some guests mentioned receiving a welcome pack and a Christmas bundle of goodies, these are individual experiences and not consistent across all reviews. As such, it is not possible to accurately score thoughtfulness based on the available information.

Cosy cottage, wonderful walks from the door (only used my car once all week), in a beautiful village. Clean and everything you need available.

Property was as we had expected, an original Dales cottage. The only downside unfortunately was as we were leaving one of the residents of Langthwaite came over to us and blamed us for allowing our dog to poop and not pick it up. I was actually offended and upset by this as we would never let that happen
Janet
The cottage was sufficiently warm with plenty of hot water and the beds provided us with many good nights rest. Some surfaces were a little dusty and the settees in the lounge a little malodorous, but the kitchen and bathroom were both very clean and hygienic. Bedding and towels were excellent. We were generally very happy with the cottage. Excellent location and we fully understood the parking arrangements as we have stayed in Langthwaite before. We would certainly recommend Arklehurst to others and return again. Thank you for providing the opportunity to holiday there.
