Guests say

Acorn Cottage in North Yorkshire receives high praise for its tranquil setting, beautiful surroundings, and welcoming hosts. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, comfort, and the thoughtful touches like cakes and jam. The area offers plenty to do with lovely walks and a peaceful atmosphere, though some guests noted issues with garden enclosure and heating.

The cottage is consistently described as spotlessly clean and well-maintained, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that guests are very satisfied with.

The location is praised for its tranquility and beautiful views, with easy access to walks and the coast. However, some guests mentioned a narrow lane and the lack of an enclosed garden, which slightly affected the score.

Guests find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with a well-equipped space despite its size. The presence of a wood burner adds to the comfort, although there were minor concerns about heating and steep stairs.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the large dog walking area and well-equipped kitchen. However, comments about the lack of a secure field and the state of the outdoor space suggest room for improvement.

The hosts are commended for their thoughtfulness, with mentions of welcoming gifts such as cakes, jam, and prosecco. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

We booked this property for the field so we could exercise the dog. We were aware the field was over the road but not that it wasn’t secure. Also only a path around the edge was usable as the centre had been cut by tractor and cuttings left, the dog got caught in piles of long wet, mown grass. The cottage was advertised as cosy, we didn’t realise how cosy but it given the space it was very well equipped.
