Guests say

Guests have consistently praised the property for its beautiful decor, spacious and comfortable rooms, and quality furnishings. The location is ideal, being close to the seafront and town centre. The well-equipped kitchen and additional features like a pool table add to the enjoyment. While there is a mention of a challenge with drying clothes, the overall experience is highly regarded.

There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide a score for this category.

The property's location is frequently highlighted as great, being near the seafront and within walking distance to the town centre, which suggests a high level of satisfaction.

Reviewers have noted the comfortable beds, pillows, and bedding, as well as the spaciousness of the rooms, indicating a high level of comfort.

Facilities are generally praised, including a well-equipped kitchen and a pool table. However, the lack of a tumble dryer and the complexity of the oven operation slightly lower the score.

The welcome gift pack was mentioned as a lovely treat, showing thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be provided with every stay.

About this property

Located on the renowned South Cliff of Scarborough, a bustling resort in North Yorkshire is 50 West Street Edelweiss, a fabulous, five-bedroom townhouse. Within walking distance to a hub of shops, eateries, pubs, attractions, gardens and the beach, whilst within driving distance to the North York Moors National Park, 50 West Street Edelweiss offers the best of both worlds for a group of twelve guests, complete with an enclosed sun-terrace, flexible sleeping arrangements, and stylish living areas. Park up in the designated parking space to the rear of the home, making your way through the enclosed patio area. Step indoors to reach the spacious kitchen/diner, where you can prepare and enjoy light bites, or set the formal dining table in the dining room to enjoy a formal affair as a family. If the weather allows, dine alfresco in the patio, or make your way up to the terrace, where you can bask in the North Yorkshire sunshine. On cooler evenings, cosy up in the sitting room, with the Smart TV for entertainment or play pool with the family in the game room, before sloping off to sleep in one of five bedrooms on offer; select between a delightful family room with ensuite, a king-size (zip/link) with TV, a second-floor double, second floor family, or the large second floor king-size (zip/link) with TV and ensuite facilities. Once you're ready to explore, the nearby Esplanade will take you to the many gardens which lead down to the Spa with its theatre, outdoor music on the Suncourt and dancing in the Ocean Rooms, or take a stroll into the town, to arrive at an array of amenities, filling your day with the chance to unwind upon Scarborough Beach, take a hike up to Scarborough Castle, a leisurely afternoon at Peasholm Park, or a fun-filled day at Alpamare UK waterpark. By car, head towards Pickering, where you can tour the remains of Pickering Castle, or board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for stunning vistas of the countryside, dotted through the North Riding Forest Park. With Whitby, Filey, Bridlington and many further coastal areas of interest to discover, do so with 50 West Street Edelweiss as your base.

Popular since Victorian times, the vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music. Scarborough is a great location for outdoor activities, with golf courses, lovely coastal walks along the Cleveland Way, stunning cycle routes such as the old railway to Whitby, beautiful sailing and championship quality surfing. The kitchen was well equipped although it really needed a tumble dryer with a large family and not much drying space outside. We didn’t like that hot water was limited to two hours per day, we prefer constant hot water. The lounge and dining room were comfortable ,with plenty of seating .

Very well appointed with lots of storage space, coat hangers, crockery and cutlery. Needed a science degree to work the oven but the younger ones worked it out! Had to keep my husband and his pacemaker away from the halogen hob (he didn't mind!) but otherwise we had a great time with our friends. Excellent position for the town and the Spa (where we were attending a conference) but far enough out to be quiet and easy to park. Recommended.
