Guests say

Holly Cottage is praised for its peaceful location, enclosed gardens ideal for pets, and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the rural setting close to Whitby and the coast, with several mentioning the secure outdoor space for dogs. The cottage's charm and the owner's helpfulness are noted, although some guests suggest that updates and additional cleaning would enhance the experience.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews indicate a generally clean environment, but some guests have noted areas needing more attention, such as windows and kitchen floors. The presence of cobwebs and a need for a more thorough clean before guest arrivals have been mentioned.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions like Whitby and Sandsend beach. Guests enjoy the rural setting and the lack of traffic noise, contributing to a relaxing stay.

The cottage is described as cosy and comfortable, particularly the lounge area with an open fire. However, some guests find the double bed uncomfortable and the upstairs space cramped, suggesting room for improvement in comfort.

The cottage is well-equipped for a holiday stay, but guests have reported issues such as a lack of cleaning materials, a broken kitchen blind, and an overgrown paddock. The absence of a washing machine, despite being advertised, has also been a point of contention.

While some guests mention receiving complimentary items such as wine and milk, others report not receiving such gifts or basic provisions like soap and tea bags. As reviews are mixed and gifts are not consistently mentioned, it is polite to note that such extras are a bonus when provided but not guaranteed.

Whitby so close with Sandsend a possible walk away, what more could you want. We spent most evenings recovering from the days out ,relaxing on the porch with a cool chilled wine or beer, with the sounds of the birds, cows, sheep and a donkey laughing in the distance. Would and will definitely recommend.
