Inviting four guests to enjoy a tranquil base, the lodge is complete with two stylish bedrooms, an open-plan living space, and a luxurious hot tub, offering all the essentials for a relaxing break. The open-plan living space features a well-equipped kitchen, dining for four guests, and a lovely sitting area, complete with a delightful electric fire, perfect for setting a warm ambience. Venture through the French doors to reach the private decked area, made for alfresco dining and peaceful mornings with a coffee in hand. Use this space to stargaze and while the night away from the indulgent hot tub, ahead of catching some rest from either the king-size or twin bedrooms. Spend your morning along Runswick Bay Beach for some fresh sea air, followed by a few hours of swimming, paddleboarding and kayaking, ahead of some brunch at a local café. For further amenities, head to Staithes, where you’ll find a hub of convenience stores, takeaways, restaurants, taverns, tea rooms, and fish and chip shops. Take in the stunning coastal views across the region by following the 109-mile-long Cleveland Way trail, leading you north towards the national park, travelling through many lovely coastal communities. A delight for artists, Staithes is a quaint, peaceful seaside town with cobblestone streets and narrow alleyways. A secluded sandy beach is nestled among the rocky shoreline, and the town's charming homes and cottages are grouped around the historic harbour and bordered by high, jagged cliffs on three sides. The community can claim ties to Captain Cook, who served as an apprentice to a draper close to the harbour. Today, Staithes, which boasts a decent selection of pubs, shops, and tea rooms, is a must-see for anyone travelling to the Yorkshire Coast. There is still an rnli lifeboat station in Staithes, along with a small fleet of cobles (fishing boats) that land fish, crab, and lobster. Boat trips are also offered for fishing, birdwatching, and even whale watching. Old Jack's Boat, a well-liked BBC children's television programme, is also filmed there. With an annual Art and Heritage Festival, galleries, and artist studios that frequently provide art classes and seminars, Staithes has a strong draw for artists. The network of ginnels (alleyways) is navigated by the free Illusion Trail, which also offers local trail guides. The Cleveland Way, which descends the cliff to the sea's edge, offers the best views of the town. We didnât use the hot tub way too much chlorine. The outside table glass still broken noticed in reviews from July 2024 that it was broken really should have replaced it by now it let the whole presentation down didnât use it didnât want people to think we were the âpoorâ neighbours. And the bottom step from the lodge very high i had broken my ankle in June and found I had to step down backwards to stay safeâ¦. Maybe add a small bottom step. So only a couple of issues over all lovely area and enjoyable lodge and site.

The lodge was great and easy to find behind the hotel. The lodge was clean and tidy and included everything we needed. The hot tub was great and private. We found Runswick bay lovely and we had a short walk to the beach but the hill was very steep, There was an option to drive down the hill and park the car. Overall we loved the lodge and Runswick bay and would love to stay again.

In the advert is a beautiful gift hamper.. we got a packet of biscuits.. The picture of the dining area outside looked inviting and smart, ours was a piece of shabby wood which couldnât really be used..The outside steps are fairly steep, especially the bottom one .. I use walking sticks and needed help with the bottom one every time, this should definitely be mentioned.. Also there was âitemsâ still down the sofa.. Apart from that the lodge was a pleasure to stay in!!! Would recommend the hotel for a meal .. it might be bit more costly but itâs sooo worth it.
