Beautiful location on the side of the canal with walks on the doorstep. The cottage was extremely clean, well equipped and cosy. The front and back gardens were fully enclosed and ideal for our little dog Buddy. There were lovely welcome touches on arrival and we found the information pack very helpful as we didn't know the area very well and as the weather was very favourable to us we were able to explore the country parks as well as the canal / washlands nearby. We have booked through Sykes many times and this is definitely one of our favourites , just that little bit different because of it's position and we are definitely looking at returning next year

Downside - uncomfortable sofas. Upside - TOO MANY TO MENTION…but I’ll try: sooooo clean and tidy, such comfortable beds, pillows amazing (I even went and bought the same ones for home from M&S), furnishings top quality, heating so easy to use, first class board games in tip top condition, every charger you could need at hand, coffee machine with coffee waiting (could do with a set of small coffee cups), kitchen appliances looked like new, oven spotless and a good size, mini dishwasher and even tablets for use, all cleaning essentials at hand, dog bed and bowls, both front an back garden completely fenced in so felt safe when letting Doggo out (he searched and searched the perimeter for a way out but found no way of escaping-he’s also deaf so we worry so much about that), tidy garden…I could go on!!! We felt so relaxed and our family guests along with their doggos loved it too. What a perfectly splendid place to use as a base…that’s if you ever want to leave it to go out! Having the backdrop of the moored canal boats and swans was beautiful. Welcome note and goodie bag a lovely touch…even treats for the pets and the water dish already filled and waiting. Thankyou Jane and Jeff for a relaxing start to the festive season x
