Guests say

Newseat is consistently praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and well-equipped facilities, making it ideal for large family gatherings. The stunning Aberdeenshire countryside offers beautiful views and a peaceful retreat, with a well-maintained garden and cosy log burners adding to the charm. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches and the property's suitability for both relaxation and exploring the local area.

Guests frequently mention the property being 'spotlessly clean' and 'immaculate', indicating a high standard of cleanliness throughout the property.

The property's location is described as 'stunning', 'beautiful', and 'peaceful', with easy access to local shops and attractions. The views and proximity to wildlife are highly valued, although one review mentioned it felt remote.

Reviews highlight the 'cosy' feel with 'comfy beds' and 'plenty of space to chill out', suggesting a very comfortable environment. The presence of log burners and window seats contribute to the overall comfort.

The property is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and has ample bathrooms. However, a comment about thin bath towels and a bike store being unusable due to a BBQ suggests minor issues with facilities and maintenance.

Guests mention thoughtful gestures such as wine and shortbread, which contribute to a welcoming experience. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a delightful bonus rather than an expectation.

About this property

Huntly 9.8 miles. A beautiful, renovated farmhouse, Newseat rests in the countryside of Rhynie, near Huntly in Banffshire and is the perfect base for a group or family who are ready to explore the great outdoors and get a taste of the local area. Surrounded by trees and rolling countryside, this beautiful stone house welcomes you into a fantastic driveway where you will be able to unpack your bags with ease. Following on from a large entrance hall, discover a sitting room with pretty floral wallpaper and leather sofas add a contemporary feel to the space, whilst guests can recline and plan their day whilst enjoying the warmth of the woodburning stove. Next, you will find a kitchen with all of the amenities needed for your stay, and a fresh wooden floor links the kitchen to the dining room, where a generous table offers seating for all, noting the lovely window seat with a view across the countryside, reflected in the pale and relaxing green of the walls. When it comes to sleep, this house offers an abundance of rooms just waiting for you, with two twin rooms, two double rooms with en-suite shower rooms, a ground-floor double with an en-suite shower room and a king-size with an en-suite shower room, all with ample storage and décor that adds a fresh and airy feel to the space.

Outside you will be met with a beautiful garden that offers storage for bikes, a lawn for picnics and a patio with furniture, where you can recline with your favourite beverage in hand as the children make use of the climbing frame available.

In the local area, there are so many activities for you to fill your days with, including local fishing on arrangement, a variety of trails for hiking or cycling including the Malt Whisky trail, where you will be able to sample local whisky at seven working distilleries. There is also the option to head further afield to Huntly, a local town, where you will find more convenience stores, as well as a variety of ships, pubs and restaurants and from here you will have easy access to historical sites such as Maiden Stone and Huntly Castle, or you can head over to the nearby local outdoor ski centre for a more adrenaline filled activity. Shrouded in countryside, it is no wonder that Newseat will make a perfect Highland holiday for you and your family and friends.

The pretty town of Huntly is located in Speyside, and is surrounded by rolling Scottish hills and open fields. The town has an interesting history, and the Standing Stones of Strathbogie lie in the centre of Huntly just beside the Brander Museum which is well worth a visit. Of course, the whole area forms part of the famous Whisky Trail and there are seven working distilleries for those interested in sampling a true taste of Scotland! Apart from whisky there are excellent hotels and pubs to appreciate, and Huntly also boasts an 18 hole golf course. A visit to the outdoor centre allows for the opportunity to participate in some roller skiing, or perhaps just enjoying the simple pleasures of cycling and walking in the wonderful Clashindarroch Forest is more your taste. Some 10 miles away is the town of Keith, gateway to the 'Malt Whisky Trail' and home to Scotland's oldest working malt whisky distillery. Keith is a pretty and very typical Scottish town with an excellent selection of shops and dining out opportunities.

We all thought it was one of the most well-equipped properties that we'd stayed in. The photos don't do it justice! A great location too in the lovely Aberdeenshire countryside - we never had to travel too far.

    We’ll definitely be back.

The beds were the comfiest we've ever slept in, even the children stayed in their own beds all night! Everything is catered for and we met the owners who were lovely and so helpful. I'm sure it is somewhere we will visit again. Perfect for big groups x
