The ancient town and former royal burgh of Forfar nestles in the beautiful rolling farmland of Angus on Scotland’s east coast. A traditional market town, Forfar holds a monthly farmers’ market, showcasing the best of the local agricultural produce. Forfar nestles close to the Angus Glens and the spectacular scenery of Strathmore. There is much to see and do in the surrounding area here. Regal Glamis Castle is nearby, the coastal town of Arbroath is only 15 miles away with its beaches and cliffs, while just 14 miles away is Carnoustie with its famous golf links. With the Cairngorms National Park to the north and Edinburgh less than two hours’ drive to the south, there is much to discover and enjoy in this beautiful area of Scotland.

    However, there was no hairdryer, which we found very unusual, and the beds are a bit lumpy and bumpy and the pillows are very flat. Otherwise, we couldn't fault it.

    Beautifully kept, very modern and minimalist inside. The listing doesn’t state that there is a step with no hand support down to the “main” bedroom - not ideal if you have mobility issues. We found simple things lacking, eg kitchen roll, j cloth or similar for wiping work surfaces for example, but milk, wine, tea, coffee and sugar were provided as well as a welcome goodie basket which we did appreciate. Lots of visitor attractions nearby.
