Sitting at the southern tip of the Rosneath Peninsula, Kilcreggan is host to a collection of impressive houses dating from the days when many wealthy Glasgow merchants had summer homes away from the city, and the popularity of the steamship allowed easy access from the southern shore of the Clyde estuary. The pier at Kilcreggan is the only remaining Victorian pier on the Clyde and is still in use, with a passenger ferry crossing the river to Gourock. There are a number of local shops and cafes in the village and also a few miles along the coast in Rosneath, while the nearby village of Cove is home to the spectacular Linn Botanic Gardens. The peninsula boasts spectacular mountain scenery with excellent woodland and coastal walking and cycling. There are several options for dining out on the peninsula, including the The Creggans Bar, with a larger selection in the Helensburgh area, including pubs, takeaways and cafes.

So comfortable and very spacious, great location, we loved the coffee shop next door and I really enjoyed waking up to the beautiful view over the loch each morning. I’m a keen cold water swimmer so walking over the road for and early morning dip was just perfect. We took our dogs and they loved the trip away with us. The owners were extremely helpful with local information and tips for our personalised wishes and would like to do’s If we were in the area again I would definitely stay here again.
