Driftwood in Kippford is a spacious and beautifully styled property, highly praised for its comfort, stunning location, and quality facilities. Guests appreciate the ample room for families and pets, the superb views, and the thoughtful touches like binoculars. While there are minor mentions of cleanliness and ongoing construction, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many guests eager to recommend and return.
Most reviews do not mention cleanliness issues, suggesting satisfaction, but one comment about the property not being completely clean slightly lowers the score.
The location is frequently described as lovely, with great views and proximity to the water. Ongoing construction is noted but does not significantly detract from the overall experience.
Guests consistently report a high level of comfort, mentioning super comfy beds and ample space. The property is well-received for its ability to accommodate large groups without feeling crowded.
Facilities are generally praised for being of high quality and well-equipped. A minor issue with hot water and a suggestion for a parasol are noted, but overall feedback is very positive.

Driftwood is a modern house in a quiet position close to the middle of the popular seaside village of Kippford. The house is fully accessible with lift to first floor; balcony with views down the estuary and to Screel Hill while the secure enclosed large garden to the rear is a sun trap for quiet relaxation and outside dining. The spacious and modern design ensures that it is light and airy while still being warm and cosy in winter, it is perfect for those looking for a family or group holiday in a luxury property. There are sitting rooms on both the ground floor and first floor with each having a wood burning stove.
The village facilities of busy sailing club, two excellent pubs serving food and tea room are within walking distance. There are walks from the door step while the Dalbeattie woods with both walking and bike trails are just a 5 minute drive away. Kippford is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Dumfries and Galloway and there are always things to see and do around the village. Within a short drive are a number of sandy beaches and an excellent selection of golf courses including the championship links course at Southerness. There are excellent Nature and Bird Reserves again within a short drive at Mersehead rspb reserve and slightly further afield at WWT Caerlaverock. This is an excellent base from which to enjoy an active holiday or in which to totally relax and unwind.
