Tucked away in the countryside of Dumfries and Galloway on the outskirts of Isle of Whithorn is the inviting, detached cottage of Sunnyside. Sitting moments away from Isle of Whithorn's peaceful harbour, whilst resting within easy reach of the region's friendly towns, despite its quiet location, Sunnyside is the perfect dwelling for a family of six and their three furry friends. The property comes with off-road parking, so you can park and unload your luggage with ease, before venturing inside to unwind. The conservatory greets you as you enter the property, a warm and pleasant spot hosting ample seating for you and your loved ones to settle down on after a day of travels. Progress through the property to find another space to relax, this one being the toasty sitting room, with a gas fire giving the room an inviting glow, warming your feet as you lounge on the sofas and watch TV. When you're feeling peckish, make your way to one of two kitchen spaces, this one beholding a great range of appliances, including a dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washing machine; the other space is a well-presented kitchen/diner, where a large range cooker can be used by the budding chef to fix up some mouth-watering dishes. These dishes can be enjoyed together around the circular dining table, whilst your canine companions rest in their dog beds. The bathroom hosts a lovely corner bath with shower over, where you can go to enjoy a tranquil soak after a long day. Once you've freshened up, choose between three thoughtfully laid-out double bedrooms to sleep in. Take your choice of super king, double or twin beds to suit your sleeping arrangements. On sunny days, make the most of the enclosed rear garden, a spot that provides a spacious lawn that the kids and dogs can thoroughly enjoy, while you flick through a book or dine alfresco on the patio. Venture to the quaint village of Isle of Whithorn to find the friendly Steampacket Inn and the St Ninians Tearoom, where you can savour a bite to eat, before embarking on a hike through Isle Head, where panoramic sea views can be admired, or you can wander along the picturesque harbour. Apart from the attractive scenery and the varied coastline, the Machars Peninsular offers pretty towns such as Port William, still a working harbour, Monreith, which was the home of writer Gavin Maxwell and offers a delightful, sandy beach and Garlieston, home to the beautiful botanical gardens of Galloway House. Spend some well-deserved time away with your loved ones at Sunnyside, an ideal base for exploring the delights of the Machars. EPC Rating: Band E
Referred to locally as 'The Isle', the Isle of Whithorn is designated an outstanding conservation area. The graceful crescent of shore and neat houses that make up the harbour presents a perfect spectacle in any camera’s viewfinder. Already in existence 1600 years ago, the community was at the very beginning of Scotland’s Christian history when Ninian, Scotland’s first missionary and saint, founded his church at Whithorn. The Isle Church itself, a former Free Kirk, stands prominent in defiance of the highest of tides. The Isle harbour, once the host of cargoes of coal, fertiliser and timber is now busy throughout the year with local boats fishing for crabs and lobsters, as well as catches of scallops brought in by the visiting Manx fleet. However, some of the best goes straight in through the doors of the award-winning Steam Packet Inn on the waterfront!

Only five minutes walk from the village. Stunning coastline and lots of peaceful walks in the vicinity; including walks straight from the door. Quirky layout, but we had everything we needed.

Several lovely beaches nearby that offer spectacular views and dog friendly. The cottage has everything you need to kick-start your holiday and we arranged a shopping delivery for the day we arrived which really made settling in easy (we used Morrisons for this and had a very friendly delivery driver). Plenty of room for you to make yourself at home and garden is spacious and well kept (with some adorable cows in the field next-door). Only piece of advice for the garden if you're travelling with dogs is it's enclosed with a stone wall that does have some low height areas so just to keep a watch if you have an escape artist! But would absolutely recommend this cottage for a relaxing holiday.

Cottage is in a beautiful location. Very quiet but only short walk into the village. Cottage was very clean and comfortable and easy and relaxing to live in. Kitchen was good for cooking. Beautiful views across the fields. We would stay here again.
