Family holiday accommodation in a quiet location in the popular seaside village of Rockcliffe. The house has excellent views over the Rough Firth and it is just over half a mile walk to the bay with its attractive sandy beach. There is easy access from the house to cliff top and forest walks including the Jubilee Path to Kippford.
Within a short drive are the wonderful sandy beaches of Sandyhills and Southerness and the popular sailing village of Kippford which has two pubs both of which serve food. The house is an ideal base for a holiday in this area. Sporting facilities abound, there are bird and wildlife reserves at WWT Caerlaverock and rspb at Mersehead both only a short drive away. For the golfer, there is an 18 hole golf course at Colvend (three minutes by car) and the championship links course at Southerness, with many others nearby. Mabie Forest, within half an hour drive, has extensive forest trails, an adventure playground for children and forms one of the stages of the 7Stanes mountain bike network. Further 7stanes trailheads can be found in Dalbeattie Forest (about 5 minutes' drive away), and further afield in The Galloway Forest Park at Kirroughtree and Glentrool.

My two friends and I had a lovely stay at Foxbrae. Although the cottage is relatively simply appointed, we found it very relaxing and well located for visiting the area. It has good access to local walks and is a 5-10 min walk to the beach at Rockcliffe. We preferred to self cater and had everything we needed.

Lovely holiday cottage, very clean The double bed downstairs mattress is very uncomfortable though & needs replaced as you can feel all the springs- owner aware

Very nice small cottage, well situated very clean and everything you would need for your holiday. I was only there for 3 nights but could have stayed longer. Lounge upstairs very comfortable and roomy.
