Guests say

Boatman's Cottage is praised for its stunning location with panoramic views and proximity to Skye. Guests appreciate the comfortable bed, cleanliness, and the addition of a washer and dryer. The sunroom is a highlight, offering a serene space to enjoy the scenery. While some guests mention the need for Wi-Fi and minor TLC, the overall experience is very positive, with wildlife sightings and local walks adding to the charm.

The majority of reviews describe the cottage as clean, particularly noting the bed and living areas. However, a few guests pointed out areas needing more attention, such as the bathroom and under the bed, slightly lowering the score.

The location is consistently lauded for its peacefulness, stunning views, and convenience for exploring the local area and Isle of Skye. The proximity to the loch and woodland walks is a recurring positive theme.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, especially highlighting the bed and the sunroom. Some guests missed having a sofa, and the exterior's appearance was noted, but these were minor compared to the overall comfort enjoyed.

Facilities like the washer, dryer, and kitchen appliances are appreciated. However, guests have suggested improvements such as Wi-Fi, better shower controls, and general maintenance. The lack of an enclosed space for pets was also mentioned.

There are mixed comments regarding thoughtfulness. Some guests missed a welcome pack and direct communication from the owner, which were present in the past. As there is no consistent mention of gifts or special touches, a score cannot be provided.

The state of the floor under the bed was disgraceful - photos to support this are available ! Previously when we stayed at Boatman’s Cottage a welcoming selection of basics like biscuits & milk were left. We enjoyed the stay and its position is outstanding. We will return at some point in the future.

Beautiful views over Loch Alsh, a perfect base for exploring Skye. Everything we needed was in the cottage. Everyone we met was very friendly, a lovely lady next door gave us lots of local info. Would definitely stay there again. Only one niggle, we couldn't find any info for WiFi, wasn't a major problem but would have been useful when planning our visits etc. Kathy
