Guests are charmed by the picturesque setting and cosy ambience of the Challenger Bothy, appreciating the warm welcome and thoughtful touches. The property boasts a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and a delightful garden, with some guests enjoying the added luxury of a hot tub. The estate's history and local wildlife add to the allure, making it a sought-after retreat.
The Bothy is generally praised for its cleanliness, with guests finding it clean and fresh upon arrival. One mention of a vacuum cleaner needing to be emptied suggests room for improvement, but overall, the standard of cleanliness is high.
The location receives high acclaim for its stunning views and picturesque environment. The estate is described as special and impressive, with easy access to local attractions and natural beauty, contributing to a serene and enjoyable stay.
Comfort is highlighted with mentions of a cosy atmosphere, quality furniture, and very comfortable beds. The property is spacious and the heating system is appreciated, ensuring a snug and pleasant experience.
Facilities are well-regarded, with a state-of-the-art kitchen and generous welcome items. However, some maintenance issues like choked gutters and a downpipe issue are noted. The presence of a hot tub and fire pit are positives, but the need for additional wood suggests a need for better provisioning.
Thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of welcome packs, including breakfast items and dog treats, which guests found delightful. While these gifts are warmly received, it is important to note that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

There was a lovely welcome pack with freshly baked bread by Morven. As well as the welcome pack for us, there was a goody bag for our dog Louis. The accommodation was spotless and we would like to thank Alan and his team. I went fishing on Loch Dola and I would like to thank David. The beds were very comfortable with lovely fresh crisp bedding. The hot tub was a welcome relief after a long day touring the north of Scotland. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay with quality appliances. The only suggestion I would make is that there is an iron and ironing board provided. I would highly recommend this Bothy for those who wish to tour the north of Scotland.
