A wonderful location to unwind is available to you at Flowermill Cottage, which is located in the centre of Portknockie's historic village. The cottage offers a rustic interior with sea views and a sunny garden. In the evenings, you may cook together and socialise in the large dual-aspect open-plan kitchen/living area, or you can barbeque and unwind in the garden on warm summer nights. The main bedroom has a king-size bed, while the second bedroom has bunk beds that are freshly prepared for you to crawl into after your travel. Together, these bedrooms can accommodate up to four people. A basic family bathroom is available, complete with a powerful shower over the bathtub, soap, and towels. An outhouse with a washing machine and rotary dryer can be found in the garden. You can get to the harbor's little beach and wading pool by taking a short trek. Local businesses include the Victoria Hotel, Seafield Inn, Spar Post Office, and Portknockie Fish & Chips are all accessible on foot. Just steps away, past the tennis courts and bowling green, are a children's play area and a sports field. From Cullen, the wonderfully beautiful coastal walk enters Portknockie and continues to Findochty. By automobile, see the ruins of Elgin Cathedral, a magnificent structure built in 1224, Elgin Museum, Scotland's oldest autonomous museum, or perhaps travel to Speyside Falconry for a behind-the-scenes experience where you can interact with a variety of owls. The Flowermill Cottage is open to visitors for weekend getaways as well as extended stays. EPC Rating: Band E

if you want to explore this stunning coast, you couldn't have a better base! Two minutes from sea, the local harbour, pubs, a shop and takeaways, so very convenient, surprising for a small village. Loads of great walks nearby, some accessible, others harder. Property is well equipped with one double bed and two bunks, full kitchen/diner/lounge with double oven electric cooker, microwave, smart TV, dishwasher. Washing machine in shed and electric car charger by parking to rear of property. The charger is charged at the cost to the owner, so very reasonable. Owners were easy to contact and very friendly; we would definitely stay again!

Brian & Alison very approachable when we experienced a minor issue with the dishwasher. Cottage well placed for nearby Chineses takeaway and fish & chip shop and the Victoria hotel. It would be good if there was a list of phone numbers for nearest health centre and advice on what goes in the coloured bins. We noted there was no âwelcome packâ but maybe that stopped due to Covid as we have not had a self catering break for a few years. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our weekâs stay and bed was very comfortable, although a bit high for we âoldiesâ!

A friendly atmosphere. Approximately five mins walk to shop, well stocked Fish shop, and a very tasty Chinese takeaway. Only visited Victoria pub, beer, meals and service top class, has what appeared to be a new dining room so saw no reason to visit the others. Portknockie itself is picture perfect. About 6/7 mins walk to the harbour The owners are friendly and very approachable Should you need their help I had a 450-mile journey to get there but worth every mile Would definitely go again.
