Perfect for families and couples travelling together, the cottage is presented to an extremely high standard. It might look attractively rustic from the outside but on the inside, it offers all the home comforts any discerning traveller would want. The light and airy open-plan living space sets the tone for the rest of the property with an inviting sitting area forming the focal point of the room. The seating is arranged to maximise the beautiful views from the cottage outside and a woodburning stove creates an attractive centrepiece to the space, perfect for curling up and warming up after a day of adventures. If it’s a warm evening then you can throw open the French doors and recline on the decking area and soak up the views while enjoying your favourite tipple. Or why not fire up the barbecue and enjoy dinner alfresco? The decking is also the best place to watch the sun come up over Loch Erisort or watch it set behind the Harris hills and if you keep an eye out, you might even get to see some wild deer meandering over the fields. The extensive fully-fitted kitchen is the ideal place for cooking up a storm and while the chef prepares a sumptuous meal you can keep them company at the breakfast bar. Balallan meaning Allan's Town, is a crofting township on Lewis, in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland. Balallan is within the parish of Lochs. The township is the longest village, being four miles in Lewis, and also in northern Scotland. Straggled along the head of a long sea loch between Arivruach and Laxay, it formed due to a mixture of crofting along the loch shore and fishing. It sits at the head of Loch Erisort. Whether you are visiting the island to see the varied wildlife, the numerous historic sites, or just to get away from it all, you will never be far from scenic surroundings. Beautiful, remote and peaceful, the views are right on your doorstep. Also known as the Outer Hebrides, the Western Isles form a 130 miles arc running from north to south off the north-western coast of Scotland. Luxurious, immaculate, beautifully laid out on the inside and placed elevated over a wild and serene view. Donât be put off by the road in front- the garden is secure if you have a dog and there is only occasional traffic between long periods of silence listening to the wildlife on the loch. Ideally positioned half way down to explore the islands in all directions. Welcome basket was extremely generous and kept us in meals until we could do a shop. Owner host was perfect too- just the right amount of communication at the start and end, and super welcoming. Perfect.

With amazing views over the loch the cottage is superbly situated for trips all around the island. The cottage itself is wonderful and is of a very high standard with everything you would need to make this a home from home. Thank you to Donnie and Julie for the lovely welcome pack and the greeting.
