Further from the house you will find restaurants such as The Edge café at Aird Uig, overlooking the impressive cliffs and out across the Atlantic Ocean, Uig community store offering essentials whilst you can head over to the nearby village of Timsgearraidh to find a selection of shops, a pub and cafes for refreshments, or there is the option of visiting Stornoway for bars and refreshments, trying out some of the local craft and produce stores as you head over to Abhainn Dearg distillery for tours and tasters. There is a huge variety of local archaeological and geological sites available to visit including Calanais Standing Stones, Lewis Castle grounds, Norse Mill and Kiln, Whalebone Arch and walks through Stiomrabhaigh and Dun Borranish.

Timsgearraidh is a village situated in the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, resting between Doune and Stornoway.
