Porthwen Lodge is consistently praised for its spotless condition, high-standard facilities, and stunning location. Guests feel at home with the spaciousness, cleanliness, and the warm welcome, including thoughtful welcome gifts. The surrounding area offers beautiful views and ample space for exploration and relaxation. While there is a minor note on the comfort of bunk beds and a suggestion for trimming brambles, these do not detract from the high recommendations and intentions of guests to return.
Reviewers unanimously commend the lodge for its impeccable cleanliness, with several noting they could immediately relax without the need to clean.
The lodge's location is celebrated for its peaceful setting, proximity to coastal paths, and stunning sea views, making it ideal for walking breaks and exploration.
Overall, guests find the lodge comfortable, especially praising the living areas. However, there is a single mention of the bunk beds' mattresses being less comfortable, suggesting room for improvement.
Facilities are described as well-equipped and of high standard, particularly the kitchen. The presence of quality cookware is appreciated, although a minor maintenance issue regarding brambles is noted.
The hosts' thoughtfulness is highlighted by the provision of welcome gifts such as groceries. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is politely noted that such gifts are a bonus and not guaranteed.

It was a lovely, clean and cosy lodge. The living area was so spacious and cosy. Highly recommend
Caron
Peaceful setting, amazing coastal position with sea views. One thing would enhance the Lodge's comfort is for the bunk beds to have memory foam toppers as the children could feel the springs in their mattresses which they found uncomfortable. This does not affect our high recommendation and we would love to return in the future.
Brian
Good quality pans and ovenware which makes a very pleasant change. Will be back there soon.
