The Old Coal Yard is a spacious and well-equipped cottage in Cemaes Bay, Anglesey, appreciated for its great location and suitability for large groups. Guests enjoy the proximity to the beach, local amenities, and the property's layout. The outdoor area and views are particularly praised, making it a recommended choice for family holidays and gatherings.
Cleanliness has received mixed feedback. Some guests have reported finding debris under furniture and issues with the dishwasher, suggesting room for improvement in cleaning standards. However, these instances seem isolated rather than systemic.
The property's location is highly praised for its convenience, being a short walk from the beach, local pubs, and shops. The scenic views and easy access to local attractions contribute to a positive experience.
Comfort has been noted as satisfactory with some concerns. Guests have mentioned uncomfortable beds and a lack of storage space. While the property is generally seen as comfortable, these points suggest that there is room for improvement.
Facilities are adequate but several guests have noted maintenance issues such as broken tiles and blinds, and a need for updated furniture. The lack of washing facilities and some non-functional items like the Xbox have been highlighted.
There is insufficient information regarding any thoughtful touches or gifts provided by the hosts, as no reviews mention these aspects. Therefore, it cannot be assessed whether the property offers such amenities.

Consequently one of our party had to sleep on a sofa for the whole week. This is a case of false advertising. The premises wasn't clean, cobwebs all over the stairs. The blinds throughout the house were broken or difficult to use. The kitchen had only 6 teaspoons. No egg cups. The frying pan supplied doesn't work on the induction hob. A bedroom door on the first floor wouldn't close. No wardrobe facilities throughout the house. In the 3 bedded room there was two sets of drawers. The front of every drawer pulled away from the drawer when trying to the open them. there was a stained and dirty bed throw in one of the bedrooms. There was no recycling facility available. All our rubbish had to go in the large bin outside the house. The wooden gates to the property are rotten and difficult to open or close. With young children in our party this was a safety issue as the drive opened out on to a main road. A house of this size should have a washing machine and a dryer. Using the same towels for a whole week without being able to wash or dry them is unhygenic.

The house is lovely. My only criticism is that the beds are a little uncomfortable. Apart from that everything else is perfect.

Location is great. The house was clean. A few snags so itâs obviously well used. I contacted the number given in the visitors information book as the bottom over didnât seem to work but no reply. Maybe the book was out of date so may need reviewing. £700 per night seems expensive on reflection. Overall it was a good stay and enjoyed.
