Guests say

Rhianfa Cottage offers stunning views and a variety of outdoor spaces, including a hot tub. Guests appreciate the welcome basket and the property's potential as a relaxing retreat. While some maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns are noted, the location and thoughtful touches contribute to enjoyable stays.

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property well-presented, while others noted issues with dust, cobwebs, and a need for a deep clean. The presence of dog hair and a stale smell in some areas were also mentioned.

The location is praised for its spectacular views and proximity to local attractions. However, some guests noted the proximity to a busy road and associated noise. The convenience of nearby hotels and pubs is a plus.

Comfort received mixed reviews. Guests enjoyed the outdoor seating and views, but reported uncomfortable sofas and a damp bedroom. The need for new mattresses and better blackout blinds was also mentioned.

Facilities like the hot tub and well-equipped kitchen are highlights, but maintenance issues such as a gap in the front door, mould, and non-functioning shower filters detract from the experience. The lack of Wi-Fi was a concern for some.

Many guests were delighted by the welcome basket, considering it a thoughtful gesture. However, it should be noted that such gifts are subject to availability and not guaranteed for every stay.

About this property

This gorgeous holiday cottage near Menai Bridge sits on the side of a hill, with lovely views over the Menai Strait. The multi-level garden is the perfect vantage point for looking out to sea, and the hot tub on the top level makes a great place for a glass of wine in the sunshine!

The pretty kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with freezer compartment, and a dining area with table and four chairs. There is an electric log burner effect stove.

The sitting room is furnished with comfy leather sofas, and has French doors that open onto the garden.

There is a small downstairs bedroom with small double bed (can be tight for 2), and a small en-suite shower, WC and basin.

There are two further bedrooms upstairs. The front bedroom, which benefits from fantastic sea views, is really special. It has white-washed floorboards, a white four-poster bed and matching furniture, and a wrought iron terrace to sit out on. The other double bedroom is at the back of the house and continues the white, almost fairytale theme. There is a large family bathroom with a walk-in shower and a separate bath.

The multi-level garden enjoys wonderful views over the Menai Strait. It has a decking area with garden furniture and a hot tub for relaxing under the stars!

Rhianfa Cottage is in a great spot if you wish to be near plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants. Menai Bridge is just five minutes along the coast, and Beaumaris is the same in the opposite direction. Be sure to visit the Janet Bell Gallery in Beaumaris and the superb Central Bakery. Menai Bridge has lots of shops and cafes. We recommend tea and a cake at Pot Jam after a walk under the famous Thomas Telford Bridge!

If you don't fancy jumping in the car, then The Gazelle is a short walk from the house, and is a really great spot to sit and watch the boats sail past while enjoying a drink or a bite to eat. For golfers, there are two great courses within a ten minute drive.

Guests are advised that as the hot tubs need to be cleaned and emptied for each new set of guests, the water may not be fully up to temperature on the first evening of their stay.

This delightful town sits right on the edge of the Isle of Anglesey and is home to one of two bridges to mainland Wales. It is an ideal base for a holiday and is great for exploring this beautiful island. It has a strong history which can be discovered in the Menai Bridge Heritage Museum, the well known Saint Tysilio lived on Church Island, just off of Anglesey in the 9th century, hence the name of the 14th century St. Tysilio's Church. Menai Bridge itself offers a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants to enjoy. In terms of entertainment, this is an ideal spot with something for everybody, there is the butterfly palace 'Pili Palas' which is incredibly popular with families, as well as the astounding Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens well worth a walk around. The Snowdonia National Park is within driving distance for you outdoor enthusiasts, it has wonderful walking, cycling and opportunities to see some beautiful sights. Nearer to the town, there are some incredible places including the popular towns of Beaumaris and Caernarfon with their majestic castles and much more to do.

We were looking for a cottage to relax and get away from it all after my dads passing. It was more than expected and we are already planning to come back maybe more than once (as soon as possible!) The house was a home from home and the owner was absolutely lovely and more than happy to help us. We cannot thank him enough. We would also like to compliment the decor and facilities which were outstanding. Thankyou to the host and to this stunning property. We will be back!

The issue was that it wasn’t very clean. The grill pan in the oven had not been cleaned and was very greasy, there were several glasses that had to be washed before use. There were a lot of cobwebs around the property and it was very dusty. Think it needs a general overhaul and deep clean to restore its quaint character.

The gardens were dog secure and the only down side was the main road, it’s quite a quick rather than busy road but for me this didn’t stop us enjoying our week. Just needed to take care with pets and kids when exiting the front gate. The inside space was perfect for our family and maintained to a really good standard. All of us (5 who stayed) agreed that we wouldn’t hesitate to book again when holidaying in the area.
