Guests say

Tyn Y Berth offers stunning views and a prime location for exploring Anglesey. Guests appreciate the property's warmth, comfortable furnishings, and the added luxury of a hot tub. While some maintenance issues are noted, the charm of the cottage and its surroundings often outweigh these concerns.

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property well-kept, while others reported issues with dust, cobwebs, and general upkeep. The presence of both positive and negative feedback suggests variability in the standard of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views and proximity to local attractions and beaches. The convenience and scenic setting are consistently noted as highlights, despite some comments about the nearby busy road.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable, with cosy furnishings and a warm atmosphere. Comfortable bedding and a well-equipped kitchen contribute to a pleasant stay, although some mention uneven floors and a need for additional showers.

The facilities, including the hot tub, are appreciated when functioning correctly. However, several reviews mention maintenance issues such as dampness, heating problems, and hot tub malfunctions, indicating room for improvement in this area.

While some guests mention a lack of welcome hamper and suggest that extra towels and a more private hot tub area would be thoughtful touches, there is not enough consistent information on thoughtful gestures to provide a score.

The shower tray kept filling up with water despite there being no obvious blockages e.g.hair, which meant that we were afraid to use it by the end of the holiday. I suspect there may be a problem with the plumbing. Whilst the kitchen was generally well equipped, there were only two pint glasses or prosecco glasses to drink from with exception to plastic cups! Our main issue was with the outdoor space and the fact that the hot tub was not working. The garden area wasn't well maintained. Lots of rubbish, weeds and bags of garden waste lying about. Not to mention the broken chair that had clearly been there that long it had vines growing within it! Having two teenage girls we had booked the property mainly for the hot tub which despite me drawing it to the property owners' attention on arrival was not fixed until the final night of our stay.

The house was welcoming, clean and had a lovley homley feel. A few marks here and there on the paintwork but that's was due to some families not respecting it. Views were amazing all around the house from all windows, country and sea views. Great location to visit all over the Island. Moalfra on the doorstep virtually, Benllech a few miles, and a bay you can walk to on the right. 5 of us went for our freinds 60th, had a livley time, would def recomend and stay again. Beds comfy and clean linen and towels provided. House was Warm as toast and a very comfortable stay. Thankyou Neil.

Really nice views and a lovely cottage. But very disappointed with our stay. Not acutely listed in Sykes. Open fire is a gas fire, Near main road is actually directly on a 40mph road, Parking is tight when you dodge the traffic, Grass area is ok but we did not feel safe letting our dog out unattended just incase, due to the proximity to the main road. Cosy rooms and clean fresh bed linen, reasonably clean, but don’t look on top of the wardrobes, full of dust. Careful if you have dust allergies as I do. Kitchen is well fitted but has been misused by a few families as mentioned, only 2 pint glasses in the whole house, and 1 wine glass etc, oven hob button comes off so be careful and put it back on. Warning, the gas fire in the living room does not light, don’t bother. Tried for two days, listed as open fire, but gas fire fitted, several cold nights later found out central heating is controlled via a smart hub. Worked great when we realised this was the case as we spend several cold nights with the heating not on. The white box was on the top mantel under the tv. In the warmest room. thus no heating switched on. When we moved it to the bottom of the mantelpiece heating actually worked. Bins were full when we arrived on Saturday 17th. Limited room for any rubbish. Manual says they get collected on Friday, actually it was collected on Tuesday. So make sure you leave the bins out. Just be careful of the wind blowing the bins into the road though, one of ours went walkies into the main road with the wind, we are aware this can’t be controlled but knowing when to actually put them out would be great. Two different days listed in the house guide, which did not match when they were actually collected. Hot tub lid, was broken before we arrived by a previous families children dancing on the lid, This made the hot tub really hard to use as it was in two pieces, This although an inconvenience, did not stop use of the actual hot tub, when it was working for the 2 days it worked. Note when it was actually working 1.5 of the 3 powered jet system , the buttons were working just no pressure and or jets. seams a constant theme looking at other reviews of the hot tub breaking 2ish days into the stay. As mentioned our stay, the hot tub broke on the 2nd day anyway, by tripping the electrics. Not to be used for the remaining week, we only got to use it 2 out of 7 possible days. As the hot tub has not been able to be used all week, this has Considerably put a dampener on the cottage and hot tub experience, one of the main reason for booking this actual cottage. Very disappointing. And has considerably spoilt our family holiday. House manual was, is written very hostile and not really a warm welcome. For instance the shower was blocked when we arrived, and I ended up on all fours on our first night fixing and making it usable. Ended up removing a piece of plastic from the sump by poking fingers into the hole. Not hair like the instruction book seams to suggest. Plus Water pools in the corner by the door and you have to stop showering to ensure the water flow does not flow over the edge. Sykes description needs to state its on a main road and difficult to pull in and out of a blind corner on an 40mph road makes it interesting. The actual drive, although it does fit two parked cars, you cannot turn or manoeuvre. you need two very small cars, with two very skilled drivers for this. Owner although responsive on texts had to be chased for updates and to this date no response as to when hot tub will be fixed. Writing this on our last night, so it’s the next family’s issue now. Good luck We won’t be back to this cottage, Anglesey still has hidden treasures to be seen, so we might book an alternative cottage next time.
