This charming cottage, situated in the valley and surrounded by woodland on one side and open hillside on the other, is perfect for families or friends looking for a tranquil holiday in the countryside. There is ample space to roam and explore as you can enjoy walking, mountain biking, pony trekking, or bird watching - all from your doorstep. Less than 5 miles away is the historic market town of Llandovery, offering plenty of history to discover, a castle, and eateries serving delicious local food. Closer to home are the local shops of Cilycwm (1 mile).
This two-storey cottage is full of character, with exposed wooden beams throughout. At the heart of the house, an open-plan kitchen/diner makes a wonderfully social space to cook, dine, and relax. A few steps lead to the lounge area with a striking vaulted ceiling. On cold winter nights, pop a log on the wood burner and enjoy a movie night in front of the TV. Downstairs are a twin and a single bedroom. Upstairs, the mezzanine with a balcony overlooking the living space has a chair to sit and read. A double bedroom is just off the mezzanine, and the bathroom is also on this floor. Step outside into the spacious gardens to enjoy the private lawned area with a picnic table and views of the stream, woodlands, and hills, making this a delightful spot for an al fresco evening drink.
There are plenty of attractions and activities for all ages. Nearby, you can pan for gold at Dolaucothi gold mines (9 miles) or catch your dinner while fishing at the Llyn Brianne Reservoir (12 miles - permit required). Head to National Trust nature reserves at Abergwesyn Common or Dinefwr, less than 17 miles for walks in breathtaking scenery and the chance to spot local birds and wildlife.
