Guests consistently praise Tirallen for its beautiful renovation, warm and comfortable atmosphere, and welcoming hosts. The property is well-equipped, offering a peaceful setting and thoughtful touches like a welcome basket. The spacious garden and hot tub are highlights, and the property is pet-friendly. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly recommended by visitors.
Reviews frequently mention the property being 'absolutely spotless' and 'very clean and tidy', indicating a high standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate.
The property's location is described as peaceful and pleasant, offering solitude and a safe environment for pets. However, some guests noted it can be difficult to find without specific apps, which suggests the location might be challenging for some.
Guests find the beds comfortable and the house cosy, contributing to a restful stay. One review mentioned a less satisfactory bed, but this seems an exception to the overall positive feedback on comfort.
The property is well-appointed with a hot tub, BBQ, and fire pit, and is suitable for large groups. Some minor maintenance issues like a non-locking toilet door and a request for more towels are noted, but overall, facilities are highly regarded.
The hosts are commended for their attentiveness and the welcome basket, which adds a personal touch. While such gestures are greatly appreciated, it is politely noted that these are not guaranteed for every stay.
Llangadog 3.6 miles. Resting on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Llanwrda near Llangadog, Carmarthenshire is the charming Tirallen. This wonderful holiday home which was once a working Dairy Farm benefits from an enclosed, expansive wrap-around garden with lawn and hot tub, a fantastic location in the Welsh countryside and five well-appointed bedrooms all boasting grand, high ceilings; a picturesque setting for families or friends to gather in South Wales. Cross the threshold and head straight into the fully-equipped kitchen where you can rustle up meals for the whole family with the help of the range cooker and large fridge/freezer. Gather the family in the dining room, where seating for everyone allows you to savour the meal as a group while reminiscing on the cherished memories you have created so far. As the evening draws to a close, choose from two sitting rooms to snuggle up in one of which boasts a soothing oil burning stove where you can warm your feet after a long day of exploring. Alternatively, watch on as the stars fill the sky from the bubbling hot tub before climbing the stairs to wash off the day in either the bathroom or shower room ahead of sloping off to sleep in one of five bedrooms. Choose from two king-sizes, two doubles and a twin. If you can tear yourself away from this idyllic dwelling, pay a visit to the Y Castell, Llangadog to enjoy a well-earned break from the kitchen with delicious pub food or venture to Llansadwrn to stop off at the Sexton Arms for a drink before picking up all the essentials at local stores. There is a wealth of history woven throughout the surrounding countryside; immerse yourself in the past at Talley Abbey, Dryslwyn Castle, the 12th-century Dinefwr Castle or the National Trust sites of Paxton’s Tower and Dinefwr nature reserve which encapsulated the 17th-century, beautiful Newton House. Outdoor enthusiasts will be in their element thanks to the nearby Brecon Beacons National Park which offers endless opportunities for breath-taking walks through wild moorlands and luscious hills as well as chances to try your hand at fishing, horse riding, rock climbing and abseiling and even water sports! Experience all this and more at Tirallen.
Llangadog, in the Welsh county of Carmarthenshire, is a quaint little village r ight in the middle of Llandeilo and Llandovery, in the Towy Valley. Western Brecon Beacons National Park borders this picturesque village. There are a few bars in town, as well as a fantastic butcher, a first-rate post office, and a wide variety of groceries and other goods. The nearby communities of Myddfai, Capel Gwynfe, and Bethlehem are also worth exploring. The nearby town of Myddfai is well-known for its " Physicians" and their use of herbal treatments and also the Myddfai Tourist Information Centre, which serves sandwiches and regional foods. There is a lovely church at Capel Gwynfe that dates back to 1898, and the town is also a popular starting point for bikers and hikers because of its proximity to the Black Mountain. To the south of Llangadog, on a hilltop, is the small town of Bethlehem, which is most well-known for its Iron Age hill fort and its franking of Christmas cards. Adding to the allure is a trip to one of the surrounding mediaeval castles, such as Dinefwr or Carreg Cennen. Further afield you may see the gardens of Aberglasney and The National Botanical garden of Wales, as well as a plethora of stunning sandy beaches and cliff hikes.
