Guests say

Trevor Cottage in Llandudno is highly praised for its superb location, cleanliness, and comfort. Guests appreciate the property's proximity to the beach and local amenities, as well as its spacious and well-decorated interior. While some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements are noted, the overall sentiment is extremely positive, with many guests eager to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with numerous reviews mentioning its tidy and well-kept state. A few minor comments about the need to clean some kitchen utensils upon arrival slightly affect the score.

The location is consistently lauded as ideal, being close to the beach, promenade, shops, and restaurants. The convenience and desirability of the location contribute to a near-perfect score.

Comfort is highly rated, with guests finding the beds and furnishings to be very comfortable. Some guests suggest additional seating in the living room to better accommodate larger groups, which slightly impacts the score.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the property being well-equipped. However, points are deducted for repeated mentions of a small fridge/freezer and some maintenance issues like light bulbs and oven cleanliness.

While guests mention high standards and a welcoming atmosphere, there are no specific references to gifts or welcome baskets that would directly indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score is set to null due to insufficient information.

About this property

An individual terraced character cottage, situated on a quiet residential street in Llandudno, a short walk from the promenade, pier, beach and the Great Orme in one direction, and the town centre with its array of shops in the other. This lovely four-bedroom cottage has been renovated and refurbished to a high standard and offers spacious, modern accommodation with tasteful furnishings and décor, whilst some of the character features have been preserved such as the pitched pine turned staircase and ceiling coving. The sitting room has a wonderful fireplace with woodburner, creating a warming atmosphere in which to relax after a busy day shopping, exploring, walking up the Great Orme or simply lazing about on the sandy beach. The dining room overlooks the pretty rear garden and is ideal for family meals and the kitchen is modern and well equipped. The ground floor shower room is a welcome addition, with a luxurious first floor family bathroom with roll-top bath. The three first floor bedrooms are well appointed with the main bedroom boasting a king-size double bed and the attic room with twin beds is a great children’s room. Outside, there is a pretty enclosed front garden, ideal for enjoying your morning coffee in the sunshine, and in the evening, the rear enclosed garden with barbecue and garden furniture is perfect for alfresco dining. There are many walks from the cottage, up to and around the Great Orme, and if your holiday is more about taking it easy then enjoy taking the cable car or Great Orme Tramway to the summit or enjoy a relaxing day on the beach. Llandudno, with its Victorian pier and long promenade, array of shops, pubs and restaurants and two lovely beaches is a perfect base for a fun-filled family holiday. Conwy’s medieval castle and attractive harbour and the delights of Betws-y-Coed, with its waterfalls and woodland walks, are both well worth a visit. Snowdonia National Park, Llyn Peninsula and the wonderful Isle of Anglesey are all within easy reach too, offering endless opportunities for exciting days out. In a great location, this cottage provides an ideal base for everyone for a holiday discovering North Wales.

All the rooms are large. There are 3 double bedrooms on the second floor which are very firm and great support if you have any major problems with your back. These can take a night or 2 to get used to if you normally sleep on a 'soft' mattress. The pillows are very soft and, if you're used to a firmer pillow, can leave you with neck ache in the morning. The windows at the property need to be closed at the top and bottom in order to lock them. The shower room on the ground floor has a very slippery floor when it's wet so be careful when using the shower. The bedroom in the attic is very warm, as expectic for any attic. The bathroom on the second floor is large and has a very deep free standing bath with a shower attachment. The kitchen is lovely and big with a fantastic 5 burner gas hob and 2 electric ovens, a standard one and a long one. Plenty of glassware, cups and plates. A mixture of cutlery and cooking utensils but there are no tongs so bear that in mind if you want to cook any food on the grill. The dish washer is large enough for a full meal load but may not take 8 place settings in one load. There were plenty of dishwasher tablets as well. The kitchen door is split (a lovely feature in traditional cottage style) so you can open the top part for fresh air. The back garden is nice when you are able to eat outside but be warned, make sure the gate is closed before opening the back door fully if you have a dog. Our dog tried to escape the 1st time we opened the back door fully because the garden gate was open when we first arrived at the cottage and we hadn't noticed that the second gate to the street was also open. We managed to call our dog back, very relieved. The front garden is a haven for birds and seagulls and there are 2 long cages for fat balls hanging from a tree in the front garden. The front garden also has a secure gate and a long seat to sit on and watch the birds, but you can also watch them from the sitting room. The only major drawback with the property is that there was no mobile phone signal. My partner and I are on EE and O2 mobile networks and neither of us could get any mobile signal anywhere in the property, emergency calls only so no texts either. Luckily, the WiFi is very good in the house so I used wifi calling for essential texts. Neither of us could get any wifi in the back garden though. The tv in the sitting room is small and on a small shelf in an alcove. The tv can not be watched properly from all the seats in the sitting room. There is an abundance of interesting fictional novels to read and a very extensive choice in board games in the sitting room, plus lots of leaflets on local attractions and places to visit further away. The recycling is very good with large wheelie bins to the side of the property. These are clearly labelled and, while we were there, were all emptied on a Monday, including the wheelie bin for general household waste. There is a book for comments and a lot of the comments mentioned the small tv in the sitting room. These comments suggested a large, smart tv could be attached to the wall (with a wall bracket for tv's) above the fireplace in the sitting room which I think is a fantastic idea (there is currently a large painting above the fireplace) but this has not been done as yet. There is an amazon tv firestick in the hdmi socket in the tv but, if you haven't ever used one of these before (we have) it can be complicated to navigate. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay but, due to the lack of mobile phone signal, I have only given 4 stars.

We had a good week and the house was clean, comfy and well equipped. The only small gripe people in our group mentioned was only one shower and it was on the groud floor, but we did agree that we would book Trevor Cottage again.
