Guests say

The Old Post Office in Colwyn Bay receives high praise for its cosy charm, cleanliness, and welcoming hosts. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches, including a welcome basket. Its location is ideal for exploring North Wales, with easy access to local amenities and attractions. The cottage's character and modern conveniences blend to provide a delightful stay, despite some comments about the steep staircase and compact upstairs space.

Reviewers consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, describing it as 'spotless' and 'very clean'. The attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort and appeal of the property.

The property's location is frequently highlighted as a positive feature, with its proximity to local amenities, beaches, and attractions in North Wales. The quiet village setting is also appreciated, although one comment about the need for a car suggests accessibility may be limited without personal transport.

Comfort is a strong point for this cottage, with guests finding the beds very comfortable and the overall atmosphere cosy. The conservatory is noted as a relaxing space, and the presence of a cosy fire is a bonus. However, some guests mention the compact nature of the upstairs area.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good Wi-Fi. The presence of a pub across the road is also a plus. However, a suggestion for a hairdryer and comments about the steep staircase indicate there is room for minor improvements.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in the welcome basket and local food treats mentioned by several guests, which add a personal touch to the stay. While these gifts are warmly received, it is important to note that such extras, while common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Very cosy feel to the original building, with the bonus of a bright and spacious conservatory for dining/relaxing. The owner left some Halloween activities for our 2 children, and their niece baked for us too, which was greatly appreciated by all of us. Lots of games in the living room cupboard and a library of DVDs helped to keep us entertained. A lovely quiet spot to return to after our days out exploring the nearby attractions - Bodnant garden, Penrhyn Castle, the Welsh Mountain zoo, Greenwood park are all close by.

In a quiet village overlooking old Colwyn. There is one pub The White Lion, don't be put off by sticky tables and worn carpet in the older section food I'd delicious and plentiful, the hosts are characters! The property itself has a happy history and is equipped and decorated to a high standard. There is a huge element of vintage in the property. The selling point of this cottage are the hosts Jane and Jonathan, who live next door. The welcome to the property is warm, friendly and full of information. There are no books of information everything is relayed by Jane personally. The cottage is very comfortable, cosy and warm. A car is essential. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners. Take the time to sit and talk to Jane she is a walking history lesson of the village and it's community. Use the lovely bakery in old Colwyn, lovely cakes, bread and savouries.
