While some guests mention parking challenges and garden security for pets, the majority report a delightful stay, with several planning to return.

About this property

Havens End rests wonderfully in the heart of Conwy on the North Wales coast, inside the renowned Conwy City Walls. Havens End is newly refurbished and surrounded by the delights of this popular tourist town, and offering high-quality accommodation for four people, this is an excellent choice for a family break by the sea. This sumptuous holiday home is tucked away from the vibrant town centre; step inside and be greeted by an immaculately furnished sitting room which is graced with an attractive feature fireplace and plenty of snug seating to unwind on after a day of exploring. Next to this, find a charming, traditional country cottage-style kitchen/diner, laced with splendid light grey units and featuring a wooden dining table, the neutral overtone gives it a real homely feel. Take the stairs to the first floor where you will find the two peacefully decorated bedrooms, a pleasant double and a bunk room both benefit from pretty feature fireplaces and provide the ideal accommodation for a family of four. Also on this level is a well-appointed traditional family bathroom, playing host to a bath with a shower over. For some quiet time away from the group, head up to the characterful eaves of Havens End upon the second floor, here you will find a comfortably finished snug room - just perfect for sitting with a book or your headphones in away-from-it-all. This room also has a TV and to the right through the skylight you will find excellent castle views, particularly at night. The calming enclosed garden to the rear of the property rests within the well-known Conwy City Walls; it comprises a gravel area and a tranquil decking just perfect for enjoying a relaxing drink or two under the sun. Roam the quaint streets of Conwy with ease from this home-away-from-home, its assortment of fine restaurants, shops and cafés lie at your fingertips, as does the town's beautiful castle and the famous Smallest House in Great Britain. Across the Conwy Suspension Bridge, you will find the village of Llandudno Junction which leads towards the ever-popular Llandudno itself - a seaside resort bursting with charm, attractive architecture and a range of superb attractions. After exploring all that this sublime coastline has to offer, why not head inland into the magnificent Snowdonia National Park? Tour this marvellous region of Wales from the inviting Havens End cottage.

As a World Heritage Site, Conwy's history and architecture are undeniable, yet the town's centre is a lively bustle of activity. Additionally, in addition to its old festivals and fairs, as well as musical concerts and galleries, there is a variety of restaurants and motels. Conwy Castle, built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287 by Master James of St George, is one of the finest examples of military architecture of the mediaeval era.

Owner julien was a great host will defo go back

This was our second visit to this cottage and hopefully we will be back. Juillian the owner is very helpful and pleasant and is always on hand to help if it is needed. We had arrived a little earlier than the check in time on arrival day and we were able to park our car by the cottage rather than having to find somewhere in Conwy with a car full of things. Juillian was even happy for us to put our things in the cottage at this point rather than leaving them till we got back. On check out day again we were able to leave the car up by the house for a few hours whilst we went and looked round Conwy. There was a small issue with the toilet during our stay and Juilian was more than happy to pop round and sort it out. The outside seating area to the cottage was new to us on this stay and makes for a really beautiful addition to the property. I just love the position of the cottage literally within the walls of the castle and so close to the town. The views out over the estuary from the upstairs back room and the snug are amazing. The cottage is also within easy driving reach of Llandudno, Deganwy, Colwyn Bay, Glan Conwy and Rhos on sea. Would highly recommend

The town Conwy is stunning and rich with history, the people were friendly and helpful. Julian the landlord was helpful but did not interfere with our stay leaving us alone but let us know he was around if we needed anything! Everything you could need was at the cottage, it was so welcoming the lights were on when we arrived with a bottle of Prosecco chilling in the kitchen what a lovely welcome thank you! Situated in a great location right inside the UNESCO protected city walls. This does mean the parking outside the cottage is tricky but there are alternatives (long stay car park) nearby if you would prefer not to tackle it! if you have mobility issues the stairs are steep due to the age of the cottage. We visited with our 2 dogs and there are stair gates to prevent them going upstairs which was particularly good for our old collie who would struggle. The dogs loved it here and the garden area was a big hit. The dogs settled quickly and slept downstairs (as they do at home) with little fuss and then put their paws firmly under the mat. A really lovely relaxing stay with beautiful walks, views, food and accommodation. This was just what we needed away from our busy life. Thanks again Julian we would highly recommend this cottage!
