Yr Angor (The Anchor) is a characterful terraced home, situated near the bustling town of Llandudno, offering families or a group of friends a base to explore the glorious coastline of Northwest Wales, as well as fantastic links inland to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. Before stepping over the threshold, you will be delighted by the traditional features of the exterior, head into the kitchen, not shy of amenities needed to rustle up a home-cooked meal or unpack a local takeaway; When it's time to serve, enter the dining area with plenty of space for dinner party natter. If you’re blessed with warmer weather, take the party outdoors for a spot of alfresco-style dining with your favourite glass of wine, a private space to soak in the fresh sea air, or if the kitchen isn’t calling, light up the barbeque and let the designated chef take charge. Regroup with your loved ones in the living room and curl up on the couch amid your favourite programme on the TV. When nighttime rolls around, three bedrooms await sleepy heads; A king-size, a double with an overhead single, and a bunk with two singles, providing the perfect balance for comfort and convenience. In the morning, take your morning coffee outside, before freshening up with a soak in the bath while deciding your itinerary for the day. Meander through the vibrant town of Llandudno, from strolling along the pier, boasting the usual activities and seaside keepsakes, indulging in a night at the theatre for an evening of fine dining playing dress up, or for something nostalgic, take a tram on the Great Orme Tramway for the highest point enveloped by serene views. Afterwards, head to North Shore Beach, get your feet sandy before cooling down in the sea. From there, History lovers cannot miss exploring Great Orme Mines, one of the most renowned archaeological discoveries to date, providing a self-guided tour with picture-postcard opportunities at every angle. Venture to the town of Conwy, rich with heritage, and have a tour of Conway Castle, perfect for history lovers and photographers alike. For animal lovers, head to the Welsh Mountain Zoo, home to rare species like tigers, snow leopards and red pandas, all while contributing to the mission of conservation. Hiking enthusiasts must set their sights to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, bursting with wildlife, climb Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) or Cadair Idris, get lost in the serene landscape of imposing mountains, woodland and countryside, while kayaking one of the tranquil lakes, making a splash in one of the hidden pools, truly capturing the versatility of the landscape. Yr Angor (The Anchor) is a perfect base for those seeking to discover some of North Wales’ best attractions and scenery.
Llandudno lies between two headlands, the Great Orme and the Little Orme and it is these headlands, and the town's two waterfronts, that give this tourist resort its special appeal. The town offers two superb beaches - the North Shore, with its wide promenade backed by an imposing crescent of Victorian hotels and the quieter West Shore with miles of sandy shoreline backed by sand dunes and superb views towards Anglesey. For the best views, however, you can reach the summit of the 679ft Great Orme using either the Great Orme Tramway or by taking an exciting cable car ride of over a mile. The town has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and cafés, as well as Venue Cymru, which is North Wales' premier theatrical stage for opera, ballet, musicals, comedy and visiting orchestras, boasting a programme that is second to none - all this is just a stone's throw from the promenade. Just 4 miles away is the town of Conwy - a designated World Heritage Site. A true medieval gem, Conwy is dominated by a splendid castle and completely enclosed by its well-preserved town walls. Discover miles of sandy beaches along the North Wales coast and excellent walking and climbing in the Snowdonia National Park just 20 minutes' drive away - there's plenty to see and do!
