Guests have had delightful stays at 2 Pant Y Celyn, praising its beautiful decor, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable furnishings. The property's rural setting offers tranquillity and is an ideal base for exploring Snowdonia. The summer house and garden are frequently mentioned as highlights, contributing to a relaxing holiday experience.
The cottage received high praise for its cleanliness, with guests describing it as 'beautiful and incredibly clean'. There were no negative comments about cleanliness, indicating that it is well-maintained.
The location is highly regarded for its quiet, rural setting, ideal for rest and as a base for Snowdonia attractions. The proximity to towns and the National Eisteddfod was appreciated, although limited parking and narrow access roads were noted.
Comfort is consistently mentioned positively, with guests enjoying the well-stocked kitchen, spacious shower room, and comfortable beds. One mention of dampness affecting comfort slightly lowers the score.
Facilities are generally praised, especially the kitchen and summer house. However, a non-functioning bathroom blind and a comment on dampness suggest minor maintenance issues.
The provision of spices, oil, and milk in the fridge reflects the owner's thoughtfulness. While such gestures are appreciated, it's important to note that these are not guaranteed for every stay.
Resting rurally in the village of Llanllyfni, Gwynedd is 2 Pant Y Celyn, a charming, old quarryman cottage. Enjoying expansive views of the surrounding countryside, whilst resting a short journey away from both the shoreline and Snowdonia National Park, the cottage has been stylishly renovated, offering the ideal base for a nature-filled break for four. Park up to the rear before following the steps to reach the entrance of the home, firstly arriving at the kitchen/diner, fully-equipped to ease your self-catered stay; whip up delicious meals, dine as a group, and even keep on top of your washing. Continue through to the homely sitting room, complete with plush, velvet seating, a rustling woodburning stove, and a Smart TV, where you can unwind after a day of adventure. Refresh in the contemporary shower room, before locating two well-appointed double bedrooms, with plenty of storage to house your belongings. Awaken to a coffee in the front garden, featuring an elevated summerhouse for far-reaching vistas, before preparing to explore North Wales and its delights. Within proximity to 2 Pant Y Celyn you'll find the Inigo Jones Slate Works, Dinas Dinlle Beach, and the national park, dotted with beauty spots, including Beddgelert Forest, Gelert's Grave, an iconic landmark for history buffs, Llyn Cwellyn viewpoint, and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) itself. Travel further into the countryside, stopping off at Llanberis, where you can tour Dolbadarn Castle, discover the National Slate Museum, enjoy the vantage point above Llyn Padarn and Llanberis, and explore the stunning landscape of Ceunant Mawr Waterfall. Head for the coast for a day at the beach, before reaching Caernarfon, home to a renowned golf club, a magnificent castle, and Plas Menai National Outdoor Centre for a day of watersports, before travelling across Menai Bridge to explore the delights of Anglesey. Experience all of this, and more, at 2 Pant Y Celyn.
Six miles from Caernarfon, a historic castle town, is the peaceful village of Llanllyfni, which is tucked between the Irish Sea and the western Snowdonian foothills. Within the village and the surrounding area, there are lovely scenic hikes, local cycle trails, mountain vistas, and a winery. The nearby village of Pen-Y-Groes has a wide variety of stores and eateries. Restaurants and activities including golf, swimming, tennis, surfing, and horseback riding are abundant in the surrounding area. The Gun Room restaurant is located at the nearby Plas Dinas Country House, which is also the site of some fascinating history. While the beach at Dinas Dinlle is five miles away, the beaches on Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula are both within ten miles. Caernarfon Castle, which is located nearby and is well worth a visit, offers additional shops and eateries in addition to steam train excursions. Farther away is Portmeirion, which features exquisite Italianate architecture and was featured in the TV series "The Prisoner." The Welsh Heritage Center, which features a licenced cafe at Nant Gwrtheyrn with stunning sea views from a decked dining area, is only 8 miles distant. The charming community of Beddgelert, which is encircled by the breathtaking Snowdonia National Park and offers a fantastic selection of shops and pubs, has several breathtaking mountain and river routes.
