About this property

Llanrug 1.5 miles. Lakeside Cottage is a wonderful, detached cottage located at the foothills of the Snowdonia National Park, set in a fantastic lakeside position, within its own grounds and gardens, and comes complete with its own private jetty. Tucked away within the secluded and luxurious 5-star Brynteg Park, the cottage itself is very private, accessed along its own sweeping drive, and is a very special place for families, couples, and friends alike who want to enjoy some fantastic times together. The cottage is well equipped and the accommodation spacious, accentuated by high-ceilings and French doors which give the wonderful garden and lake views - perfect for those sunny days. The living accommodation and bedrooms are all well-appointed, tastefully decorated and designed with comfort in mind. The spacious sitting room is a perfect place for everyone to relax after a busy day, with a wonderful open fire creating a relaxing atmosphere. The dining area is ideal for a family meal together, all prepared in the well-equipped kitchen, which has plenty of storage, work surface space and a great cooking range, ensuring all your needs are catered for. Arranged on the ground floor are two bedrooms; a king-size and a master bedroom, boasting a super king-size bed with zip/link, sitting area and en-suite shower room, both with Smart TV. There are two further bedrooms situated on the first floor, another boasting a twin with zip/link, Smart TV, and with lake views and a lovely bunk room, also with lake views. There is also a well-appointed family bathroom located on the ground floor, with the addition of a first-floor cloakroom for the convenience of the upstairs bedrooms. After the day's adventure, Lakeside Cottage is wonderful to return to where you can relax in the hot tub, ideally located on the patio and star gaze long into the night. The gardens are a wonderful place for the children to play or to take a relaxing stroll through the meadow. A path leads around the lake, where you can access Brynteg Park and enjoy a drink or two at the country club and bar or perhaps a meal at The Boathouse Italian Bistro with lake views. Brynteg Park offers great on-site facilities including a state-of-the-art gym, swimming pool, spa, and beauty lounge for the ultimate in pampering luxury. If exploring Snowdonia National Park is not for you, Brynteg’s leisure facilities also include tennis courts, water sports facilities and more, keeping your whole family entertained. There are kids’ clubs and entertainment, wonderful gardens, and woodland walks, all on-site for your enjoyment. You can also go off site and visit the many attractions the area has to offer, such as the nearby towns of Bangor and Caernarfon, with its majestic heritage castle. Why not also explore Llanberis, the gateway to the peak of Snowdon or the popular, mile-long zip wire at Bethesda? The nearby North Wales coast and the beautiful sandy beaches and rocky coastlines of the Llyn Peninsula and the Isle of Anglesey are within easy driving distance. Explore North Wales like never before with a stay at Lakeside Cottage.

Two bars, two stores, a post office, a hotel with an indoor pool and a fitness centre, and a 9-hole golf course can all be found in the tiny village of Llanrug. The village rests at the base of the Snowdonia Mountains and is only four kilometres from the tourist mecca of Llanberis. Llanberis, one of the most popular mountain tourist centres in Snowdonia National Park, is dominated by the Snowdon Massif and is framed by two lakes: Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris. As the basecamp for hikers and mountaineers attempting to summit Snowdon, Wales's tallest peak, Llanberis has earned a reputation as a "mecca" for outdoor enthusiasts. You can take the Snowdonia Mountain Railway to the top, or you can hike up one of the many trails. The shopping and dining options in Llanberis are second to none. Caernarfon, with its magnificent castle and town walls dating back to the 13th century, is only four miles from Llanrug on the coast. Also nearby are the National Trust properties of Penrhyn and Plas Newydd, as well as many beautiful beaches.

The jacuzzi also proved a wonderful distraction for all. The main house was lovely and the larger, downstairs ensuite bedroom was more than adequate. We struggled a little with the central heating and disposal of rubbish and would have been helped by better written instruction inside the house. The cottage was a little "tired" in places but it was a perfect base for exploring Snowdonia. Nicky was a very helpful contact at Reception.
